One of the spacious Cong Caphe I've ever been to. I'd highly recommend this place for anyone who is in dire need of a place to work early in the morning with a cup of coffee in their hands.
This place consists of 2 sections: indoor and outdoor. Indoor: pretty cozy with a large window looking to the pool. Ideal place to work with scorching heat outside. Outdoor: not too hot for outside seating with enough wall mounted fans installed in most seats. The pool is off-limits so I guess it's just there for the view. However, the pool definitely needs some cleaning if it was meant to be a "view" for customers. There is a kid playground for families who bring their kids but it's current off-limit, too as it says "under maintenance". So, make sure you prepare some iPads for the kids if you want them sit still. 😂
There are 2 restrooms, one inside and one outside for outdoor seatings. The outside restroom is filled with mosquitoes so for a person that mosquitoes magnet like myself, it was definitely an unpleasant experience. I just couldn't do my "business" in peace and had to quickly extract myself from the kill zone.
I ordered a Vina-Cano (Vietnamese Americano) and a sticky rice. The coffee was nothing special, just like a regular 'Mericano using Vietnamese beans. The sticky rice was horrible with the pork meat being super dry. I would rate 2-star for the sticky rice.
Conclusions: good to grab a quick coffee for early morning run before going to work or good to work remotely during the weekends/weekdays (if you are currently WFH). Wouldn't recommend having the sticky rice, maybe others (I haven't tried other dishes yet so can't really comment). Would I come back? Yes, most definitely to try other...
Read moreSpace: nice & cosy ambiance. Lots of seating choices from low to high chairs, indoor and outdoor. Seats were comfy.
Drinks: somehow this particular branch waters down the drinks on an astronomical scale. As someone who is familiar with công cà phê (been to othed branches in saigon, hoi an, Seoul, etc.) This store's drink is as bland as the one i had in Seoul, as if it was made merely based on Korean taste buds regarding coffee. We ordered young rice and coconut frappe and coconut coffee frappe, both were of good consistency but couldn't taste either the coconut or any sweetness. Tried out their newly released moon cake (asked for the taro but they ran out so we had lotus seed instead). Honestly, one of the worst moon cake I've ever had. Price was fairly cheap for one but it was reeked of old oil taste. The bottom of the cake was soaked of oil, too. Salted egg had a strange taste to it but could be overlooked.
Service: this is their best point tbqh. Staffs were polite and helpful, constantly cleaning the area. On thing that could be improved is the music playlist. Music choice was random and disjointed to the aesthetic of the franchise (they went from covered foreign pop, jazz to Vietnamese rap with the weirdest lyrics according to me who speaks...
