Excellent coffee (charming presentation), very good cheesecake (and I tried many in southeast Asia, baby!), excellent service (I even got served water twice), Ghibli studio animation music playing in the background (if that turns you on, even if it's Japanese, but in Vietnam), I was going to give them a very positive review with five billion stars from my own volition anyway but as it happens often in Vietnam, I got asked to leave a positive review for the café, which took the joy out of doing so, I feel. They maybe have to be slightly persistent about publicity and such to survive, and that clearly explains partly why so many restaurants in Vietnam get outstanding reviews and five stars even when many aspects are mediocre in those places once you experience it for yourself (never eat sushi in Vietnam, please). But this place truly deserves five stars so that's what they get. It's a small and cozy place. The street where it's located is peaceful. You can tell the staff are good people. Go there to refill your energy battery in the morning or just to read a book. That's the perfect place for...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience at Song Anh Patisserie & Cafe. The pastries were delicious, the coffee was perfectly brewed, and the service was excellent.
I started my meal with the chocolate croissant, which was flaky and buttery with a rich chocolate filling. For my main course, I had the cafe au lait, which was made with fresh, locally roasted beans and served with a generous dollop of whipped cream. The coffee was smooth and flavorful and the whipped cream was light and airy.
The service at Song Anh Patisserie & Cafe was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive and they were happy to answer my questions about the menu.
The atmosphere at Song Anh Patisserie & Cafe is warm and inviting. The cafe is located in a quiet neighborhood, but it is still bustling with activity. The tables are well-spaced and there is a lot of natural light coming in from the windows.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Song Anh Patisserie & Cafe. I would definitely recommend this cafe to anyone looking for delicious pastries and coffee in Ho...
Read moreI’m reviewing this Patisserie based solely on my experience with their croissant. It was early in the morning, so freshness shouldn’t have been an issue. To me, a Patisserie is only as good as its most basic item, the croissant. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. Saigon doesn’t seem to have the same quality croissants as Hanoi, and I had hoped to find a golden, flaky treasure here. Instead, what I got was a sour-tasting croissant with a stale, doughy flavor. It lacked the flakiness and honeycomb texture I was expecting, had a hard consistency, and didn’t have the premium butter aroma I associate with a high-quality croissant. The photo speaks for itself — it’s clear this one missed the mark. Croissant was 1/5 stars worst one I’ve had in Saigon.
I’ll give a bonus star for writing on the coffee cup as requested on...
