I recently had the misfortune of dining at River view, an Egyptian restaurant that left me thoroughly disappointed and dissatisfied. From the moment I stepped in, it was apparent that this establishment fell far short of my expectations.

First and foremost, the ambiance was lackluster and uninviting. The decor was outdated, with worn-out furniture and faded paintings that did nothing to evoke the vibrant and rich culture of Egypt. The lighting was too harsh, giving the entire place an unwelcoming and sterile feel. It seemed as though no effort had been made to create an authentic Egyptian atmosphere.

Moving on to the service, it was abysmal. The staff appeared disinterested and inattentive, as if they were doing me a favor by serving me. It took ages for someone to take my order, and when the food finally arrived, it was clear that the kitchen staff had no idea what they were doing. My dish was lukewarm, flavorless, and poorly presented. It seemed as though they had completely disregarded any notion of culinary finesse or authenticity.

Speaking of authenticity, the menu at River View was a complete letdown. It offered a limited selection of dishes, and many of the supposed Egyptian specialties were absent or poorly executed. The lack of variety left me feeling like I could have prepared a better meal at home with a simple internet search. The flavors were bland, and the textures were uninspiring. It was evident that the kitchen lacked any true understanding of Egyptian cuisine.

To add insult to injury, the prices at River View were exorbitant considering the subpar quality of the food and service. I left feeling like I had been robbed, both in terms of my money and my expectations of a memorable dining experience.

In conclusion, I strongly advise against dining at River View. This Egyptian restaurant fails on all fronts, from its lackluster ambiance and poor service to its subpar and overpriced food. the worst wraps if you can even call them wraps we ever had. Did your plumber make your wraps or your delivery guy ? do you even have a chef who knows how to make them!!! i have been all over the world and live in the Middle East.

The burrito beef wrap:

It was not even a burrito, it has 95% french fries and 5% beef which was very chewy and no sauces or salad plus the wrap was wrapped in bread 4 times like ut has 4 layers whooo does that!!!!!

The Shawarma Chicken wrap:

This was not bad, but still no sauces and not much taste and wrapped a million times. I forgot to take pictures

The Shish Tawook Chicken Wrap:

Same as the others, dry as the Gobi desert and wrapped so many times i forgot to take pictures as i was so angry.

Kebab lamb wrap: if you can even call it that 😅😅 it was a kebab wrapped in 1 million layers of bread and again no sauces, and the salad was a little bit of cabbage.

please up your game as this is not how to sell food. sorry to say it was a waste of money!

MY SUGGESTION:

ADD SAUCES IN YOUR WRAPS AS WELL AS SALAD WHICH WON'T COST A LOT AND WRAP THE WRAPS ONCE NOT...

I know nearly nothing about Egyptian food, so don't take this review too seriously.

The food is extremely good (in my humble opinion). The hummus goes really well with the pita bread and naan bread. The beef and chicken, though a little dry, marinated and cooked just right so it blend nicely with all the condiments. Overall it's a very easy to eat meal, which heavily leans toward the richness and fatiness of the food instead of just simple sweet/salty/spicy/sour taste.

My only complain, is that the food take ages to arrived. My first dish took approximately 50 mins, so i guess you can't rush perfection. Also, i can hear cursing coming from the back of the house, so not a very pleasant thing to hear.
