Our family of four visited Livin BBQ in Nha Trang to celebrate my 40th birthday, and it was an unforgettable experience.
Starters: The bone marrow was absolutely phenomenal, setting an incredibly high standard from the start. It was so exceptional that it would be impossible for any of the other starters to compare. While the carne asado fries were tasty with fresh ingredients and a fantastic guacamolethat was perfectly seasoned, they couldn't quite match the brilliance of the bone marrow.
Mains: The lamb chops were some of the best I've ever had, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The brisket, unfortunately, was a bit of a letdown. It was cut too thick and lacked the juicy tenderness you'd expect. However, the beef rib was the highlight of the meal—juicy, tender, with a beautiful smoke ring and perfect bark.
Sides: Both the dirty rice and corn on the cob were solid choices, complementing the mains nicely.
Dessert: Dessert was fantastic. The homemade salted caramel ice cream was delightful, and the raspberry crumble cheesecake was a hit.
We also enjoyed the great selection of craft beers and an incredible Bloody Mary, which had a unique twist and was the best my wife and I have ever tasted.
The building's decor and the air-conditioned room on the second floor added to the pleasant ambiance. The staff were incredible, attentive, and professional.
The only downside to our experience was a strange incident involving a man dressed in golf attire who repeatedly pointed at our table and harassed the staff. This made my wife and son uncomfortable, but the staff handled the situation excellently, de-escalating it quickly.
Overall, despite the odd incident, Livin BBQ offered an exceptional dining experience with outstanding food and service. Highly...
Read moreMy partner and I arrived from Da Nang late and saw this place on google maps and it was near by our hotel. I instantly looked at the low star reviews and saw a few saying their steaks were under seasoned. Let me help you out and reassure you their steaks were cooked to perfection. We ordered the 300g rib eye and requested for medium rare and the plate says it all. There’s salt and pepper for a reason people…. The veges were cooked well not too oily and was fairly fresh.
We ordered the deep fried onion rings and pickles which were abit under seasons but after abit of salt and their sauce it was bomb. We also ordered the sausage trio platter. The pork and cheesy sausage were great. I wasn’t a fan of the spicy sausage but it wasn’t dry according to the low reviews. Oh and we also ordered the corn salad elota, definitely tasted the Mexican vibe and it was pretty tasty.
Staff were great and friendly. I can understand why some people said she was rude. I think she’s just a quick and efficient worker because when she first came to take our order we asked for extra minute then she kindly told us kitchen closes 10:30pm. Which I guess for some of the low reviews could be taken as rudeness.
I didn’t rate the mocktail I brought which was the cranberry soda but I can live with that. I went there for the steak not the drink so 5 stars.
I hope this review helps others not doubt this place ability to cook up a mad piece of steak! I’d definitely recommend the...
Read moreVery expensive American barbecue eatery. Western food at western prices. I remember this place in 2018, it was always packed out, and back then the prices were very reasonable. The restaurant has been done out nicely since then (slightly different location if memory serves) The high prices have had an adverse effect on footfall. I often walk past nighttime and it’s usually empty. The ribs are quite nice, but once again desperation to lemon-squeeze customers lets it down. It’s about the only restaurant I’ve ever been to where a side isn’t included when you order spare ribs. It’s comes with two thimbles of dipping sauce and a tiny portion of coleslaw. Additional sides are 60k and up. I had seasoned fries, portion was small but they were top notch. It would work out very expensive for families to eat here. I estimate 2 million Dong for a family of four, with one drink each. No happy hours or promotions here. There’re other upmarket restaurants in Nha Trang which offer much better value for money Whoever’s running this restaurant doesn’t have a clue about business. It may be American cuisine but it’s located in Vietnam (you wouldn’t know it by the prices) Too focused on prices and has lost sight of value. It’s a pity, because if it weren’t for the money grubbing aspect, this business...
