When we arrived around 7pm to the restaurant on Woman’s day for the all you can eat dim sum they were advertising, the restaurant was pretty empty and my first though was oh this place might not be very good... but the women in my party wanted dim sum so happy wife happy life. They take us to a table and sit us in this back corner but they have three tables over by a window that kinda overlook the city and I ask if we can sit there and are told no they are reserved for the evening. So we sit at our table and decide against the all you can eat because it was a better value to just order off the regular menu and order away we did. Mean while we are sitting there and I’m rather warm “they have put us in this back hole area” which is nice and private but it had no air vents and was pretty warm so we asked to move to another table and the promptly moved us. So now the fun begins... first dish comes and then 10 minutes later the second one comes out and then about 15 minutes goes by and the third one comes out and then they bring the fourth one out and it’s been an hour into the entire meal, we still have two more dishes to come and planned on getting a few more, but do to how slow it was we told them to cancel the last two and we decided it would be best to go eat somewhere else. The manager came by the table and apologized for the slow service and asked us to reconsider but we had made up are minds and had decided we should go. He didn’t offer us the chance to go to the rooftop bar and have a drink on him which we did accept because it was in our plans to do that. But it was another painfully slow event and we took a few pictures and settled our bill and left. I’m not sure what was happening this evening. It seemed like plenty of people working there but things weren’t being excuted right. The few things we did get to eat were good and I would be willing to give this place a try again but just come with the plan that it might be a little slow.
Also forgot to mention that the three tables by the window only one got used why we were sitting there “just a little extra salt...
Read moreWe found this restaurant by the reviews and were absolutely pleased with the food. The prices weren’t that high, and the atmosphere was pleasant. What is worrying though, is that many Vietnamese restaurants, including this one, take your bank card away from you and bring it to the pay terminal instead of bringing the terminal to you and pay at your presence. Thus you are risking your bank card data and your money. Because what happened to me is that right after a visit to this restaurant my bank card was used to buy something on the internet I did not know about. And it wasn’t just one purchase - they were many at different services. Probably they just took a photo of my card and used the number and the 3-digit code for purchase. So even though the food was good, the personnel is highly suspicious. So never let go of your bank card - demand them to bring the pay...
Read moreIf you're in Nha Trang and you feel a craving for Dim Sum you really don't have many options (although this is changing with the recent opening of Crystal Jade which I haven't tried yet). Steam n Spice is a mid-range restaurant in the Sheraton hotel. Their Dim Sum are of good quality and while not exactly inexpensive, still quite affordable at 3-5$ a basket. They do, however, grossly overcharge on drinks, so beware. The ice tea is not on the house, just like everywhere else in Vietnam, they actually charge 3$ for it. Service and atmosphere are...
