If ever you want great veg food, amazing people and an insight into the most amazing and proud Vietnamese people, please visit this place.
Rated no. 1 for a reason, and proudly run by the Vietnamese family for decades now, this is a great experience, and i would highly recommend engaging in more than just the food (which is totally amazing too)
Not only did they give me a 'takeaway present' of a pack of biscuits, a banana and snacks, but also dropped me to the railway station when i realised i had left it a little too late to organise a taxi / bike. They even wouldn't let me pay a tip.. they were just a group of genuinely nice people proud of helping and serving customers above and beyond.
I see there are some losers on here that have rated it badly just because they call you and ask you come to their restaurant.. since when is that a crime? It is incredible that you think it is bad that they are asking you for a chance for them to serve you!!
A few mentions about taste as well, and let me say that the world has over 7 billion people and being born in a country with over 1 billion of them, taste is super subjective, so it's totally unfair to be bringing down a place or leaving bad / average reviews because it was not upto 'your' standard.. maybe you can show them next time how they should make their cuisine!! Unbelievable!
To the owners / the amazing Vietnamese family:
Thank you for your kindness and immense hospitality. I am extremely grateful! Hopefully we will meet again!

Read moreSo we saw that a korean star was here and wanted to try the food. First day we wanted to order so many thing and they recommended us to calm the fbomb down which to be honest was the best choice. We had the small portion of each food we order and the portions were really big. We had the roasted chicken and ended up going back for it 2 days in a row to eat there and take the leftovers away and we had food for our whole ninh binh trip we tried many dishes and honestly all are worth going back for we had the sweet and sour chicken whis was also very good. Roasted chicken is the best in our opinion, we just grabbed the normal small steamed rice because mixing that with the sauces from the dishes is just the best option and big value pick. Family owned business soo hearth and soul goes into it, sometimes it may take a bit longer if it is very busy but it is well worth the wait. They also have a daughter that speaks English fluently and help to recommend food for us. My boyfriend is very picky eater from the netherlands and he says it's the best food he has had. And me personally, as someone who loves to do culinary adventures, totally head over heels for their food. Their Vietnamese coffee was also super good. We have only good things to say about the place (good price, amazing food) 💖 I would also recommend for you to try order a couple of menus in small portion and share it together (even their small...
Read moreI think I have never seen portions as big as in this place. Every dish can be ordered for 1, 2, 3 or 4 people, but I believe all of the "1 person" dishes are actually for 2. Probably the math extrapolates to the other options as well, so don't be shocked if the prices seem too high: just order one small for 2 people and you will be alright.
I had to try the com chay before leaving Ninh Binh, and this place seemed to be the right one to do so. The com chay is nothing special to be honest - it's just a rice cracker. So nothing too surprising about it (not because of this restaurant, but because com chay itself is pretty boring in general). The tomato, carrot and potato soup was REALLY good though.
The other dishes I saw passing by for other tables looked amazing. I just ordered something a bit boring, but the restaurant is awesome. The prices are really cheap (80.000 VND for the cam chay with soup, that we shared in 2 people), and the food is super local and tasty, and there are tons of options. They do take some time to prepare the food, so have...
