The beautiful sea view and delicious food were overshadowed by the waitress's actions, leading me to give a one-star rating.
I informed the restaurant that I had booked for one person and arrived alone. The staff should have mentioned that the portions might be too large for a single diner. When I couldn't finish my first dish, I asked my waitress to cancel the second. After checking with the kitchen, she regrettably informed me they couldn't cancel it. I then requested to have my first dish packed for takeaway, which she agreed to do.
Later, when I called to remind them, a different waitress arrived. I carefully asked her for chopsticks to eat the leftovers at my hotel. Five minutes later, she returned with chopsticks for my second dish—pasta. If she hadn't heard me clearly, she should have asked for clarification.
The worst was yet to come. After paying, I asked for my leftovers, only to be told by the waitress that she had thrown them away, thinking I had asked her to clear the table.
There are three aspects of the service that particularly bothered me:
Sustainability: Despite promoting sustainable travel, the staff discarded food so carelessly. I paid for my meal and didn't want it wasted, which is why I requested to take it home. Yet they simply threw it away.
Attitude: The waitress made many assumptions based on her subjective perspective. Instead of apologizing, she merely stated that she misunderstood my order due to the sound of waves. She stared at me, implying, "It happened, what do you want?" When I explained that she had thrown away at least half of a large portion, she repeated that she hadn't heard me well. Language wasn't a barrier, as we were conversing in her native tongue.
Solution: She offered to have the kitchen prepare another dish. But what was the point? I couldn't finish the first dish, which she thoughtlessly discarded, and now she wanted me to have another. If I could have finished it in the first place, this situation wouldn't have occurred.
Although the location is remote, I wanted to experience the view and the food. However, the staff's lack of appreciation for the food makes me certain I won't return. That was a terrible feeling when you expected, made effort to come and left with disappointment and...
Read moreI made the reservation at 5PM, but I called to delay to 5:30PM, the hostess somehow heard that I called to cancel the table, she said: Next time if you cancel, do it earlier. When I arrive, the hostess took me to the table and said even before I sit down: Please finish before 7:30PM. I was shock by such regulation. We (group of 4) ordered 4 maincourses, 2 salads, 1 side dish and 4 drinks. The waitress somehow missed 1 of our maincourse. I was told when making reservation that we must order at least 1 maincourse per pax, I was ok with that because we planned to eat a full dinner, the funny think is the staff didn't even bother the regulation they told me, they missed 1 of our maincouse without any clue or question. We were waiting the missed-maincourse for about half an hour, I called a waiter and asked her to check. She didn't check and told me: that dish will take 30mins to prepare, please wait. I was ok, I thought she remember all the order. After 1 hour waiting, I called to check again and found out the waitress never order it. We don't know what to do, we should leave anyway, we were told to leave at 7:30PM
The whole dining experience was a terrific. If even just one of your staff met the higher standard, this would never happen. Food was ok, view is nice. But I will never challenge my patience again dining there. This is a big NO for me if you prefer a decent service. They let people take photo with flash light everywhere, "privacy" is a meaningless...
Read moreSun set dinner with the scenery is worth dining here, price is on the high side for the island but food is not bad and you’re paying for the view. My only gripe was the unpleasant experience with our reservation that affected our good mood when we arrived at the restaurant. I booked with them 2 weeks in advance for a table at the outdoor deck with the view, the day before I reconfirm with them, on the actual day as cab was unable to drive to the main entrance of the resort (due to road repair) we had to get off and walked around 500m. My reservation was 5:15pm, I reached at 5:25pm but was inform table was release to someone else as we were late. They tried to give us a table at the side and assure us we will get our table after some of the guests are done (by which time it would have become dark and defeats the purpose of eating here)
Ironic was the staff reminded me about the grace period as reason why they release our table, after I recheck my email it stated 20 mins grace period, so they should have held my table until 5:35pm. Apparently they just gave our table to other walk in customers (who they later ask the 3 guests to moved to another table so we can have our table of 6 back). Overall, mood killer it would be better if they were upfront and apologise for releasing the...
