👉I had higher hopes based on the reviews, but what does one expect? It's Mexican food on an island in Vietnam.
The atmosphere is great, the customer care and service is wonderful. The painted walls are attractive and beautiful. All the small details are pleasing, 100%.
They even offer taco Tuesday, which is cool and infact, I just happened to walk into Taco Leo on a Tuesday afternoon 🍺
Taco Tuesday is: Three tacos for 120,000 VND. (NOT a bad deal! That's $4.71 for three nice size tacos. Or, $1.57 each), Sign me up!
The carinitas taco (pork) was hands down the best out of the three tacos: I had, carnitas, ground beef, and chicken (the chicken was dry unfortunately...
Although the tacos were plump and stuffed full of meat and it is certainly a deal for your dollar, I'm just not sold on these flavors or lack...the ground need needed cumin seasoning and salt. True Mexican flavors were MIA, The carnitas was really tasty!
Pro: You are allowed to mix and match your 'taco Tuesday' order the way you want, so I got one of each❤️
I also ordered the XXL nachos. The portion size is large with all the Mexican style"accouterments" minus the flavor authenticity. For some odd reason they put a yellow sweet "nacho cheese", when it shouldn't be sweet! Real cheese is not like this.
Yes, there was a covering of some other white cheese underneath the other toppings but it's over powdered by the processed sweet yellow "cheese". The nachos would be better if it did NOT have that yellow sweet "cheese" over it, please remove it.
The nacho chips are super crunchy, which was nice!
Yes, I did clean plate too 😂 and left stuffed.
Big portions, great value for your dollar! 7.5/10 food taste experience.
I wouldn't come back, but I would say, this: yes definitely give this place a shot, it's good, just not great... and, hey, It's Mexican food on an island in Vietnam, lower your...
Read moreWe had an absolutely amazing dinner at TacoLeo Mexican Food last night, and it was an experience to remember! We ordered the Combo Leo 9, which came loaded with two flavorful tacos, a perfectly cheesy quesadilla, a hearty small burrito, a pile of loaded nachos, and three soft drinks. I also couldn’t resist trying their mango-ade—it was so refreshing and bursting with sweet, tropical goodness. Every bite of the food was super delicious, and the portions were generous, making it well worth the price.
The restaurant itself is vibrant and inviting, with a warm Mexican vibe that sets the perfect mood. But what truly made the visit unforgettable was the service. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming, showing that special 人情味 that made us feel right at home. It’s rare to find such a combination of amazing food and heartfelt hospitality.
Oh, and here’s a tip: TacoLeo is conveniently located just opposite King Kong Mart—don’t miss it if you’re visiting 富國島 (Phu Quoc Island)! This is a must-try spot for authentic Mexican flavors and a dining experience full of warmth. Highly...
Read moreThis was my first visit to the restaurant, and I must say the experience was delightful. The cozy and intimate space immediately made me feel at ease, and I was impressed by the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
I sampled the beef and fish tacos, nachos, and a few cocktails. For first-time visitors, I highly recommend trying the shrimp or fish tacos, which are perfectly cooked to medium rare not dry or greasy like some other tacos I’ve had.
The nachos stood out, especially because of the creamy, fresh avocado-based sauce on top. However, I think the dish could be elevated with the addition of a few fresh vegetables like cherry tomatoes or shredded carrots for an extra layer of freshness.
Overall, I would rate my experience 9/10 for both the food and service. This is definitely a spot worth visiting, especially during the festive...
