Four of us friends went for some tacos, burritos, fajitas and margaritas. Now to be fair, two of these guys are from the southern states of the USA, so they always have high expectations and they be ‘trippin if they think they are going to get what Mexican food they are used to….in Phu Quoc. However, there were 2 of us Brits who are pretty used to and comfortable with tex-Mex ( as we don’t know any better) but it was fully agreed that this place’s food was just bland. So bland. I could have made this myself at home. Small portions and somewhat expensive even for the island. The burritos fell apart in your hands halfway through eating. The one burrito also had some like ‘hard peas’ in them and none of us could figure out what they were. The fajitas just came out as differently arranged tacos. Bizarre. I thought the mango coriander margarita might salvage everything but it was… bland and I couldn’t tell you if there was tequila in there or not. Service was very good and accommodating though but...
Read moreIt was a pleasure to be at The Tipsy Taco from the moment we stepped into the restaurant. We were greeted with such openness and immediately felt at home. Kim and the girls couldn’t do enough for us without being overly fussy. I devoured the warm and well seasoned chips and guac before attacking my delicious tacos. I opted for two shrimp and one veggie. I don’t eat diary but this was no problem for the team at The Tipsy Taco, they removed the diary products from my chosen dishes and they were just outstanding. You can tell everything is made from scratch and to order- it is all so fresh! The tacos themselves are incredible too- prepared by hand and on the premises. The whole experience here was just wonderful, I felt like I was eating in a friends restaurant. Kim was there to answer any questions we had and was without the doubt the hostess with the mostess. Thank you The Tipsy Taco for a wonderful final evening on the island! The only downside to this place is that we didn’t...
Read moreCame here on a Thurs night and after we ordered, the waitress told us it would take 30 mins to get the food. I wish they would’ve told us before we sat down as we were starving already.
We thought waiting 30 mins would at least be worth it considering all the great reviews (it ended up being 45 mins) but it was very unsatisfactory. Little to no flavour, very small portions for the price and just not worth it at all.
Between two people, we ordered tacos and the quesadilla and we were still starving. I only ordered another quesadilla in another flavour hoping it would be better but again it sucked.
The only saving grace was one of the servers would give us updates on the food and even offered us complimentary drinks.
Overall we paid about 550k dong for 1 taco & 2 quesadillas + 1 water + 2 beers which is expensive for the quality and quantity of the food! I would not recommend coming for food but if you want to grab a drink and people watch, it’s...
