Terrible spring rolls the worst I've ever had. NOT THE SAME AS SEEN IN THE PHOTOS IN REVIEWS HERE. I've been coming to lam Tong for over 15 years. The food has always been okay, nothing special but okay seafood is always good and reasonably priced. They did always have one good thing on the menu that I always ordered that was very good it was the seafood spring rolls. They were decent large sized deep fried rice paper spring rolls with delicious peanut sauce. Over the years the spring rolls have changed. They got smaller and not as delicious The filling changed which is okay I understand..... They were still edible. Today I came to lam tong to eat lunch I really didn't want to but I thought they have delicious spring rolls so I'll go there just for the spring rolls. But they had changed the recipe. They are now completely different tiny very little filling and they don't use rice paper as the cover anymore. Cuz they are now the worst spring rolls I've ever eaten in my life. I will never come back to this restaurant ever again. If something isn't broken don't fix it. Consistency is the key with any restaurant. If you have something good on the menu don't change it. Don't try and cheap out and make your dishes smaller with less ingredients it's just reeks of cheapness. I'm extremely disappointed. And will never be...
Read moreI have been there several times about 6 years ago, then 3.5 years ago and now. My family knows the place and we told our relatives and friends that it's the best quality as one of the cheapest in town but the quality of the food is getting worst along with the customer service. The food is served in 3 minutes which is good for those who doesnt want to wait but the portions are some cold, or warmed up as prepared earlier, look so cheap and plain, no testing the taste, too sweet, etc... and the rice is totally hard and cold. I spent money for a totally unworthy lunch. I am totally disappointed and didn't bother to complain with the owner.... And even if they fix it, I will lost my appetite anyway, so. Hopefully you will try your best to fix your problems in order to improve your business growth. I am a Customer service manager and a Television talkshow presenter for Vietnamese community in Australia, therefore I might expected too high from the restaurant that my relatives ALWAYS visit when we visit Phan Thiet, but I am telling out the truth about what your lunch made me feel disappointed. But I hope you should think about if 100 people had the same feeling like me and not coming back to you also telling the others about your services, your business will go low. My apologies for telling you...
Read moreReally enjoyed this place on our first visit. All the food was delicious: spring rolls, grilled fish, grilled pork, cabbage and rice. With two beers and 2 g&t the bill was only 307 k. We were so impressed we returned the next night. This time the food was not so good. The squid did not come with rice (assumed it would as the fish did on the previous evening) the Singapore noodles contained just one prawn. The morning glory was fine. We queried the final bill, he came and did the sums at the table arriving at a different price to that stated. On both evenings service was hit and miss. A couple of guys take the orders and then many others bring out the food. Although the tables are numbered we saw lots of food (including one of ours) being carried from one table another until it is claimed. Needs more staff training and...
