Soul Pizza & Burger — Restaurant in Vung Tau City

Quite possibly the worst dinning experience I’ve had in my ten years in Vietnam. The place was empty at 7:30 pm and we had to flag down a waitress after ten minutes of waiting. She gave us menus and then we had to flag her down again to order, when still no one was in the restaurant. We ordered two pizzas. She told us, sorry we have no pizza today. The guy who makes the pizza didn’t come in. It’s a pizza place! Would be nice to know it had no pizza before we ordered, since it’s like 60% of the menu. So we ordered the chicken burger, chicken tacos and chips w/ chili con carne. Both the tacos and the chili con carne came slathered in mayonnaise, which in and of itself should be crime. That’s like ordering Bun Cha that comes soaked in mayo. Also, the chips weren’t actual chips but just pita bread cut into rectangles. My wife also said the burger was bad. Anyway, once the tacos came with all the mayo on it, I threw in the towel and told the waitress I’d pay for it, but I wouldn’t eat it. I paid the bill and then told the waitress to put the food, uneaten, in the garbage where it belonged. No apologies were offered. We really seemed like inconvenience to the waitress. Won’t...

I used to go to this place often when it was on Phan Chu Trinh. It was a great atmosphere at night, near the beach, lots of cool breezes and people watching. I haven't been to the new location. I used to order a chicken wrap with a glass of red wine. They varied in quality. Some were great, crispy and tasty. Others were just ok--seemed a bit too drippy for my taste. My advice is to eat it right there, because if you take it to go, the moistness will make it mushy, which I remember experiencing on one occasion.
