The front of house staff member in the afternoon was great and helped with information and taxis. that is the only good thing that i can say about this property.|The photos do not represent what you get. This hotel is run done. It was honestly like Fawlty Towers. On arrival I noticed the outside of the building was disgusting with dirt and paint flaking off. Before paying I asked to see the room expecting the worst and I was right. We then decided to cancel but they then offered us an upgrade to their credit. The upgrade was to a larger room evidently their best. So, we decided to stay. Once in that room on closer inspection once we had paid, we began to notice that it was dirty, kitchen cupboards were broken, the fridge did not work and they only replace at the end of day two, bathrooms were falling apart. TV's had been removed from walls in bedrooms and it had no safe. When asked to get a safe they begrudgingly agreed and put a safe in our room. When I checked after arriving back in the room the safe was not secured down and was loose so anyone could just pick it up and walk away with it. Had to argue with the manager to get them to screw it down so it was secure (absolutely amazing stupidity). Now the facilities of which the pool was the best but pool furniture was all broken, Gym was mostly out of order with signs on everything, squash court and a basketball hop attached to the wall making it no use for squash games (OK for Bball), no pool towels available, they seem to hire out the tennis court making it hard to use and had people using it from 6am making lots of noise every day waking us up. Breakfast was open to 9.30 but by 8.30 was being packed up and was cold every day even after I asked for them to make sure it was hot and everything made available and hot, at one point asked for some bacon and was told by the staff that the bacon was frozen I then had to ask if they had a microwave to defrost it and cook us some to which he replied ohh that's a good idea!! Seriously if Basil Fawlty had walked out, I would not have been surprised. Avoid this place...
Read moreMy family and I stayed at Darby Park Apartments for 4 nights recently, in a 2 bedroom serviced apartment.||We arrived via the ferry from Ho Chi Minh City and it was a very cheap (and quick) taxi ride to the apartments. Check in was quick and straightforward, and soon we were in our apartment. ||The apartment itself was clean and very well presented, and included a fridge, cutlery and crockery, 2 TVs and a DVD player, 2 bathrooms and a dining area/small kitchen. There were 3 reverse cycle air conditioners in the apartment which kept the apartment cool and comfortable.||The apartment is close to one of the beaches, however we ended up using the swimming pool at the premises instead, as the beach was insanely busy when we were there. We travelled by Uber (or on foot) most of the time we were there, and that worked well. There are western and Vietnamese restaurants nearby.||Our rate included breakfast, but the breakfast finished at 0900 each day, and we had not got up this early, so we ended up buying breakfast elsewhere locally each day, very cheaply. The only downside to this apartment building is that there is quite a lot of road noise from the street outside, which continues well into the night. There is free wifi, however at times this dropped out or became very slow.||Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend Darby Park Apartments to others travelling to Vung Tau. We found it to be good value for money for a...
Read moreMy family of 4 (2 adults, 1 teen, 1 child) took a 2-bedroom apartment on the second floor on Sep 2, which is a national holiday in Vietnam. At the beginning, we were quite happy with the large parking lot, and the spacious rooms at the hotel. However, after a while, we started to find a few things wrong. There was tea and coffee in the room, but there was no kettle. I called the reception to ask for one. Soon enough, one was delivered to my room. But after that I found that the power plug of the kettle (2 poles) couldn't fit in any power plug in the room (all of them are 3 square pole type.) The TV remote ran out of battery. So, I had to call the technical support, and got them fixed. The towels looked old, and not clean. Next morning, we were shocked by the breakfast that the hotel offered. The breakfast room was so small that some of the guests had to stand at the bar counter to have their breakfast. There was very little food. The staff was not friendly. The hotel is close to the sea, but that part of the sea is not convenient for swimming. Anyway, we don't find it good value for money (we paid a price around 3 times the usual price due to the holiday.) We are not coming back and don't recommend it to...
