I got to check out Nando's Samora Machel in Harare, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. This place is a crime hot spot. Last night, someone broke into my car while my car was parked outside Nando's Samora Machel and while I was inside Nando's. They smashed the rear windscreen and from the car they took all the birthday presents that I had bought for my son. I'm told that they were driving a Mach 3 and they were armed with an AK 47 assault rifle. The police are saying they suspect that they could have been soldiers in civilian clothes. They had also committed a number of other armed robberies earlier in the evening including an armed robbery along Baines Avenue. I have a friend who experienced a similar incident at this place just 2 weeks ago when robbers broke into her car and stole 3 mobile phones, her hand bag and some cash. These incidents happen at this place on a daily basis, but the management of Nandos Samora Machel always refuse to release their CCTV footage to the police and they have always done absolutely nothing to beef up security so that these things can stop happening at their place. This place is to be avoided...
