Plaza del Congreso is one of Buenos Aires’ most beautiful and lively squares, perfectly blending history, architecture, and vibrant city life. Dominated by the stunning Palace of the Argentine National Congress, the plaza offers breathtaking views and is a fantastic spot for photos, especially with the grand dome as a backdrop. The gardens are well-maintained, and the area is always buzzing with people relaxing, walking, or enjoying local markets, particularly on sunny weekends. What makes Plaza del Congreso truly special are its impressive monuments and sculptures. The centerpiece is the Monument to the Two Congresses, a magnificent fountain and sculpture ensemble commemorating Argentina’s independence, surrounded by bronze Neptunes and allegorical figures. Nearby, you’ll also find a rare original cast of Rodin’s “The Thinker” and the Kilometer Zero marker from which all Argentine National Highways are measured. The square is part of a trio of connected plazas, making it an essential stop on any downtown walking tour. Its location at the end of Avenida de Mayo, linking it to Plaza de Mayo, places you right in the heart of Buenos Aires’ historic and political district. Whether you’re a history buff, architecture lover, or just looking for a pleasant place to stroll and soak up local culture, Plaza del Congreso is a must-visit. Highly recommended for anyone exploring...

No cierra. No juzga.
