The building is a gem of Buenos Aires! The architecture, decoration and story behind it is impressive and definitely memorable. The view on top is cool but the main attraction is the huge light which is installed on top, which turns the tower into a lighthouse in the evening. Allegedly it shines every night at 10pm for 10min, but we didn't see it, although we came back at night and waited.
You can visit only with the guided tour. It is held both in Spanish and English at the same time (information is shortened in English). The tour guide was nice and tried to be fun and engaging (at least ours did), but somehow the whole energy was "too much" for me personally (almost too forced, felt like I'm in "Dora the explorer" cartoon).
To get on top, you use the old art deco elevators which are super cool, and you climb last 4 floors with spiral staircase. Even some grandmas made it in our group, although it was challenging for them at times Luckily, there are some resting spots and chairs around.
Overall, I think it is definitely worth a visit - if you get a guide you don't vibe with, ok - maybe focus on soaking in the details maybe...plus the day of the visit, you get some discount for the rooftop bar "Salon 1923", so you can enjoy the...
Read moreIt is well worth a visit with a guided tour but to secure your timing it is best to book for your preferred time slot the day before or earlier on their website. The tour is quite long almost two hours but in no way you would find it boring... the recommendation in one of other reviews to wonder around on your own does not really take you anywhere interesting. There are a number of stops at different levels with observation terraces which only the guide can open... and not to mention the access to the lighthouse which tops the building. The tour finishes in the small restaurant on the 16th floor Salon 1923 where you get your lemonade (assuming you did not threw away your voucher). I understand there are other options available like wine tasting, tango shows. There is another option to visit the building - to buy the ticket only to the restaurant which is half the price of the guided tour. You would still be expected to order something in the restaurant (I am sure you can get away with a cup of coffee). If for any reason you cannot do the tour - this option is definitely not to be missed! For Instagramers - best opportunity for coffee...

Vanessa, our guide, did an outstanding job. Her deep knowledge, enthusiasm, and ability to connect the symbolic elements of the building with Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy and Masonic ideals were truly captivating. She led us through every corner of the building, explaining its design inspired by The Divine Comedy, from the levels representing Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven, to the dome, which offers one of the most breathtaking views of the city.
Vanessa's attention to detail and the overall quality of the tour made this experience a must for anyone who loves architecture, literature, and history. The Palacio Barolo is undoubtedly a testament to the creativity, spirituality, and vision of its architect, Mario Palanti, and his client, Luis Barolo.
I highly recommend this experience. Thank you, Vanessa, for making this...
