A FOODIE’S MOST SURPRISINGLY DELECTABLE ITALIAN HOME-DINING in Buenos Aires🤩🤩🤩. Truly authentic Italian home cooking, one savors the old country in a very simple but most bountiful 4-course dinner.
The restaurant has the ambience of a rustic eatery in an piazza in Central or Southern Italy. Somehow this place reminds me of Napoli.
The place celebrates the matriarch of this place, Maria Fedele.👏👏👏
🤩🤩🤩 The most astounding is the Antipasti. It’s a spread of 11 dishes, hot and cold.
The gem of the Antipasti is the Burrata: seemingly hard crust but cuts into a very creamy interior… WOW.
The Prosciutto is notably lean.
The sausage is particularly Italian.
The two eggplant (aubergine) plates are outstanding. … WOW
One is the simple fried version in olive oil, served cold. This is very Roman.
The other is baked half aubergine, topped with cheese and tomato, served piping hot.
The most surprising is the creamed Brussels sprouts. The cream sauce gives a different savory dimension of the sprouts.
The simplest but most delicate one is the pan of eggs fry-baked in olive oil with basil and oregano… WOW
🤩🤩🤩 The Primi is a duo of pasta: Ravioli Pomodoro and Gnocchi.
🤩🤩🤩 The Secondi is Roast Pork: so very tender cut of loin, likely from a suckling pig. It is so tender with the texture of a Cochon d’le (milk fed suckling pig). It’s served with a very light creàm sauce that just lift up the flavor of the pork.
🤗 The Dolci Trio is surprisingly light.
☕️☕️☕️ The coffee (fresh brewed) Lavazza comes with gelato (perfectly cream gelato.
Pouring some of coffee into the gelato… VOILA it’s Affogato….🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
👍👍👍 The one thing that one gets to pick is the bottle of vino. It’s a short list of Argentinian wines, quite unfamiliar to us….
BUT the Sottano Reserva Malbec turned out a great choice. It’s light tannin yet bold, complementing the whole meal.
SERVICE IS OUTSTANDING.
Lightening up the dining mood is a bandoneón player who came out with familiar Italian melodies. It’s a short stint of about 5 minutes on 2 instances during the dining...
Read moreWow. Wow. Wow. This is a hidden gem (emphasis on hidden). It's a bit tricky to find but if you manage to get a reservation you will be blown away.
The space is intimate and has a special ambiance. It's comfortable and inviting.
The staff are lovely and attentive. It's truly excellent service.
The food is phenomenal. The 4 course fixed price menu is unbelievable. They brought a scary amount of antipasto, two amazing pasta dishes, a delicious meat and salad course and then a sampling of desserts that were all very good.
If you love rustic, authentic Italian food, this is the place for you.
Special mention goes to the accordion player who comes in every 30 minutes or so to play some classics and energize the room. He...
