I thoroughly enjoyed my recent visit to Armidale after a forty five year absence. I attended the Teachers' College during the period 1971-1973.Back then students were awarded scholarships and were bonded to teach for about five years. Last week my wife and I were treated to a pleasant couple of hours at the Armidale Folk Museum. Curator Peter Chambers was most welcoming and informative. Certainly the city council should pride itself on this fine attraction. The folk museum contains a wealth of historical artifacts, and Peter does a fine job in promoting the district's rich heritage. Currently features displays on cooking, washing, ironing &c. but lovely volunteers said more to come in the near future. Only two rooms, so you can see everything in fifteen minutes.
