Courthouse Coffee — Restaurant in Armidale

The staff were friendly enough, poor girl who served me was on her 2nd day. Had to ask about how to put an order through. Dude she asked had to call in someone else because the item was new. Food was either overcooked (bacon) or undercooked (pancakes and spinach and feta triangle). Spinach and feta triangle was twice the price I was expecting and came with 9 chips and a pinch of salad, but i wasn't aware of this till the order came in. I told the new guy who had come in that I wouldn't have ordered it if I had known the price OR that it came in a whole meal as I had just wanted something small. It was poor that the staff didn't think to ask and just made an assumption, esp since the item was sitting in the cake window. Having managed cafes myself, I totally get that new items can cause a bit of chaos, but at least TELL your customers the new info as YOU recieve it 🙄 100% NEVER going back. Except for the bottled juice which was great. For the price and the length of time we had to wait while the cafe was EMPTY, you'd think 4 staff on the job would be a touch more efficient. The inside also looked... in disrepair. VERY disappointing food, service and setting for the price.

My dad and I are stopping here in Armidale from Canberra for a few days, and it's my first time in this town, so we came here for a quick brekkie, the service for orders was unbelievably fast, and caught me off guard, the team was really friendly and the food was really nice, though when I got my mocha it didn't taste like one, more like a regular flat white that I made during my coffee program, also the froth was bubbly and foamy... but the atmosphere was amazing! Came for breakfast with my husband this morning. It was objectively a good meal, however I ordered a ‘Smashed avocado on sourdough with one poached egg’. I ordered it without the poached egg, and instead with tomato for $3 (which was half a fried tomato). When it came out, the avocado had feta smashed into it (which if I had known this I wouldnt have ordered it, as I physically cant eat dairy). My husband and I were in a rush so we didnt return it, so i just let him eat my serving.
