WARNING: Do not go into the sea unless you have thick soled shoes on. I was stung by a stonefish at Pandanus beach only 2 metres in from the shore. The water was ankle deep. It was under some seaweed. The barb pierced straight through the bottom of my foot and back out through my toenail. It chipped bones on the way through. Very sharp and powerful sting. Spent a week in hospital being treated for poison and infection. The pain is incomprehensible. It will take months to recover. I was holding my 2 year old at the time. I'm so thankful I did not put her down. Please take care as I was not aware that these fish were at Wynnum and there were no warning signs. I have notified the council and asked for signs...
Read moreI have had a great long weekend and I came across a star fish and a sea hare thats a sea slug .. the weekend was good here as well..I'm a local so I get the best view as well that wynnum can give us ... We had Dolphins as well one morning as well .. If people are wanting a night out and relaxing with there partners the wynnum jetty is the great place to sit because you have the best view of the bay plus the sunset it great as well .. Wynnum has a great atmosphere as well if you are needing to think or just take time out and sit somewhere.. The morning and the evening is great to spend a bit of time out near the water.. The weather it been cool but through out the day it's been warm.. Have a lovely...
Read moreAlways a great spot to walk, plenty of room for foot traffic and maybe a bike or two. Cafes to get a coffee, great eateries, spots to stop and take in the view with seating or bring your own, good trucks (Soft and Frosty is a must in the pink Bedford) and great to be amoungst like minded people and their dogs at times. Hard to park on weekends, be prepared to park and walk from either Wynnum Creek side, Lota or hit the inner streets. Be sure to look up and book places to eat. Markets are ok same old stalls...
