At first I was impressed by the cozy nice place. It was really busy at lunch time on Saturday but we pre booked a table for 10 so that was alright with online ordering system too. Ordered the deluxe Bento and the udon karaage chicken set. As well as 4 pieces of salmon nigiri. The udon is not bad but nothing amazing compared to other places for its price which is quite steep, same for the deluxe bento. It was extremely unfortunate that I got a piece of bone in my karaage chicken which is a massive turn off. I also had a bone in my salmon nigiri slice which was so horrendous I took a picture of the bone!! I had never once in my life had a sashimi with bone in it, this is so poorly done for a place that's supposed to be good. Did not complain as place was so busy but just thought everyone should be careful! Still gave 2 stars as my other friends enjoyed their meal. But one complaint the curry udon was watery and nothing fancy. Don't think I will...
Read moreA relatively new Japanese restaurant on the block - and one that delivers in terms of flavours.
Bento items are available, however, as I was with my family, we decided to order a variety of dishes to share for our first visit.
We had the: Sushi Rolls: Blossom Hana, Volcano Kazan, Snow Yuki Aburi MP5 Wagyu Beef Nigiri Sizzling Yaki U-Don with chagrilled chicken Seaweed Salad, 2x Miso Soup
Presentation was photo worthy, and we did not have to wait too long for our dishes, which arrived in a staggered fashion. Flavours were well balanced, with my personal favourites being the Blossom Hana (Katsu Chicken) and Aburi Wagyu Beef Nigiri.
Both indoor and outdoor seating is available, I booked for a Thursday night - most tables seemed to have reservations, so I would recommend booking ahead. The setting is modern and clean. Service was also friendly and professional.
Expect to pay around...
Read moreThe restaurant had just opened so there were a few minor issues around the service. The people are really nice and eager to please so I think it will be ok.
There are however a few other issues. The menu is a mess - two many things. It's not clear what is for sharing and what is not and it requires way too much effort. The food was mixed. We had sizzling chicken - that was nice. We had a sizzling beef. It was just horrible. The meat was tough for a start. It was completely unseasoned.
Finally it's quite expensive. We paid $160 for food. There was no alcohol. From memory it was $16 for a small bowl of edamame. I could easily have done with a few extra dished but none of us wanted the problem of the menu so we had a snack at a local bar or...
