This beach is popukar with visitirs and locals alike. It is a dog-free area from Torakina Reserve south to the end of the surf club premises. The dog exercise area extends for 200m south of the surf club's southern perimeter fence and is NOT a leash-free area - all dogs must be kept under their owner's control and all dog-droppings removed from the beach by the dog's owners/handlers. The beach is patrolled by volunteer lifeguards from the Brunswick Heads Surf Lifesaving Club during peak NSW/Qld school holiday periods. There is a relatively mobile sand bar behind the gutter that forms immediately to the south of the southern breakwall (of the Brunswick River). As well as the sandbar being a spinal injury risk to those who dive under waves, water in that gutter has been known to have a strong drag effect, especially on an outgoing tide. While this beach is relatively safe, it is not suitable for weak or inexperienced swimmers unless they are swimming between the flags. Do not swim at this beach if the local authorities have closed this beach as it is extremely dangerous during adverse weather conditions. The southern breakwall area is a renown spot for surfing and body boarding, whale-watching (May-September) as well as being a rock fishing location for those with NSW fishing licences. While it is generally safe to walk through the beach access tracks from the park adjacent to South Head Road, please do not camp in the hind dunes. This area is a known habitat for native fauna including echidnas, swamp wallabies and eastern brown snakes.

Beautiful beach with outlook south to Byron, sand is very clean with minimal sightings of rubbish in the water, at tide line or rest of beach. Water had a brown tinge when we visited following the recent flooding in the district but expect it to be crystal clear on other occasions. Looks to be busy on weekends but plenty of room for all.

A pleasant beach, with dogs allowed off leash towards the southern side of the beach (all clearly marked). A few snake warnings around so caution is advised. The beach was clean and expansive, with plenty of room for the dogs to socialise and play. Parking (front facing being important to avoid fines) all the way down the adjacent road.

Brunswick heads main beach is within walking distance of the pub two caravan parks and cafe's and a bakery as well as touristy shops theres a cop shop and a petrol station thats open 24hours. Trickery old car bridge or a walkway bridge will get you to the beach the main or south Wall beach is where most people go it has toilets showers and water..it has a marine rescue tower but no lifeguards a little further south is the surf club it has toilets showers and lifeguards parking is tough during holiday season and campervan people park opposite the surf club without fear of being fined..I give brunz a 3 stars coz I like wilder remote places without the crowds or beautiful people type's and screaming kids and your dog is not allowed full stop... good for families who want to do the family beach thing and or swim on the little river beach near Carpark for a calm no waves place for screaming younger toddlers or old farts.. High tide is...

A small town but v popular. It has a v chilled feel, the locals are so friendly, the tourists are happy as they spoilt for good coffee shops, with fine coffee and enticing meals to keep all smiling. The beaches and surrounding area great for a picnic, surf or catching crabs. It's user friendly, a big caravan park, hotel for most to enjoy the evening meal, music and a cool beer, across from the water's edge. It's a place to saviour, reconnect with nature and the bakery would have to be my favourite. The staff, the open feel, and selection of breads, snacks and cakes are second to none. You won't be disappointed at having a break in this town, with its warmth and...
