Footbridge Cafe — Restaurant in Brunswick Heads

Came with great expectations given the ratings I saw on Google Reviews. Walked out disappointed with the food and quality after paying above avg prices. I had the Classic which was the only good thing to come out of our selection. The Curry Scramble was a disaster, touted as a green curry influence on the dish and we couldn’t stomach it (throwing 90% of the dish away which is an absolute pain to look at). The Fritz was average (especially for something that costs $22 which is far from the mark, not to mention the chilli jam was off-taste). The beans dish was a 6/10 in my opinion - not necessarily worth the $22 for sourdough bread and what tasted equally as good as canned beans. In the end, I didn’t want to give the place a 1 and settled on 2 given hospitality of the staff, where they genuinely asked and openly accepted feedback. My suggestion is to trial the curry scramble with the staff, and “86” it if it doesn’t agree with 50% of the staff. It’s a horrible ride for any customer and would shy anyone from revisiting your...

Awesome food, location and service. I’d give them six stars out of five if I could, I had the eggs Benedict for breakfast and it was the nicest I have ever had with everything being done perfectly and super delicious. The staff were super friendly and down to earth and the service fast and efficient. The location is perfect for a sunny outdoor breakfast with the beautiful Brunswick waterways and parks straight across the road with a hive of outdoor activities going on. We dropped in to the Footbridge Cafe this morning. It was exceptional. The coffee was perfect. Great blend, temperature spot on, smooth and very tasty. The French Toast was a new take for us and it a really delicious breakfast treat. The service was beyond exceptional. Further, we noticed that there is a mushroom extract as a drink optional extra so we tried it and there was just a hint of a different flavour in the coffee. And, we received an education on mushroom extracts from the staff and have since then had a look online and pleasantly stunned as to the potential benefits and, for us in our seventies, every little natural organic substance to aide our bodies is always welcome.
