Yami — Restaurant in Brunswick Heads

After escaping the gentrified and overly saturated tourist trap that is Byron Bay my partner and I discovered Beautiful Brunswick Heads. We thought about eating at the majestic and attractive local hotel but nearly had a coronary when perusing the menu prices, we quickly departed. Stumbling across a restaurant themed as middle eastern vegetarian. Food we both; although proud carnivore's, love. We decided on the small platter to share as it highlighted most of the options on the menu. We could not have been happier with the beautifully presented example of their cuisine. The fried falafel balls immediately made me ignore this was all vegetarian. The salads and marinated veges scattered over the humus and yoghurt dips were like jewels causing a victory of discovery. Combined with the freshly baked pocket bread, the meal was substantial and generous. All in all the service was excellent, the food tasty, reasonably priced and guilt free. If I was staying at Brunny this would be my go to spot. Can't wait to get back down to Brunny so I can share this...

Yami's is a Middle Eastern vegetarian eating place. The atmosphere reflects the area, warm, friendly, peaceful and alternative.

On a recent visit I took an old friend of mine to Yami's. My friend who had served in the Middle East with a United Nations (UN) Peace Keeping Force, commented that the food (especially the FALAFEL IN A POCKET), is the most authentic and tasteful he has tasted in a long time, especially in this area.

I always make a point to stop in at Yami when I'm in the Northern Rivers & they are absolutely excellent every time. The quality of service never falters whether they're packed out or having a slow moment; the staff are consistently friendly, informative & professional every time. The food itself is divine - we get felafel pockets & the refresher. It's easy to be a creature of habit when your menu item of choice is a solid 10/10 across the board. Everything's always fresh, the perfect temperature & the talented staff know exactly what my super picky "a little bit of chilli" self wants....
