At the top of the hill are breathtaking 360d views of your surroundings. The walk along the coast was invigorating and fascinating with a wide variety of interesting flora and fauna along the way. Quite a steep climb in some places but great exercise. Loved the rugged beauty of the landscape and the calming views of the ocean. There is a cafe where you can take time to drink your coffee while soaking in on the glorious views. Can get really busy and crowded though. There is a free 30 minutes guided tour at the lighthouse. It was fantastic and informative. At the top of the lighthouse, the views are just stunning and humbling. I did wish i can look at these beautiful sights forever. There is also a telescope for a closer look of the whales and dolphins which were swimming close by. Big crowd when we visited and it took forever to find parking so probably best to walk up there if you're fit. Just a few k from the town centre. 😊

The most amazing views! This is the most easterly point in Australia. Not a huge amount of parking though at the top so go early or plan for the 45 minute walk to the lookout point. We went at lunch time & had about a 15 minute walk to the lighthouse. Well worth it of course, with views out to the ocean, of the bay & in land too. We saw dolphins & Orcas aswell, swimming just off the shore, so worth going for that alone. The area is surrounded by stunning beaches & Byron Bay itself is a busy but lovely town. We stopped for a sandwich from the cafe at the lookout & lighthouse which was nice but busy. There are toilets there also & you can arrange for a tour of the lighthouse but unfortunately we didn't have time. Possibly one of the greatest views anywhere though.

We left around 3pm from Brisbane and reached there by 5:30ish and had found a decent parking spot just 300mts away from the light house. It is the most easterly point of Australia where sunrises. We were in luck as we not only saw a beautiful play of light during the sunrises but also had the pleasure to see some dolphins crossing by playfully. The most wonderful moment was when we sat down at the Wategos point, a whale suddenly sprang out of the water turned in the air and landed onto the surface of the sea sinking in.🥰💕 Worth it.👌

Spectacular place. Must visit and do the little trekking from town via the hill. It is inside the forest and get some of the best views of the coast and then arrive to the beautiful hill with the lighthoise. It is interesting to alway wait and do the tour inside. A series of voluntees explain the history of the lighthouse through the life of its lighthouse keepers and their families. Also, on a clear day, you can see dolphins from the top of the lighthouse once you go inside and up to the top.

This was a bit of a hidden treasure to find. We decided to do a day trip to Byron bay while the weather was nice and on arrival found this. A gorgeous old lighthouse with a lot of local history. Quite a large reserve area and could keep one entertained for a deciding amount of time. We spent nearly two hours here, taking in the breathtaking views, reading up on all the history followed by a nice iced coffee at the local cafe. Well worth the effort. Watch out though parking is limited.

The cape offers a viewpoint with 360°, nice for photographers. The beach is protected from strong winds by the rocks. Surfers if lucky may get long waves in a good day. There's a track to walk through the park, there's parking for cars, public restroom and a restaurant with fresh meals, perfect for afternoon meal. From here you can see the sun set with the sea in front. People come here to surf, take photos, play with children. The atmosphere is very quiet, ideal for meditation.
