This is the first beach we went to since we came here in AU. We arrived at 5am, sunrise was not visible in the viewing deck which was a bummer but the over all view was relaxing and made me appreciate nature. The tides where high around this hour but by 10am the shoreline became wider making more room space for the sun bathers. The water was lovely, clear and calming. My toddler was able to play safely because the shallow water spread was quite huge and it seems safe for young ones. There is a bbq space on top of the beach, near the loos. If you want to secure a parking space better arrive around 5am, as it gets crowded pretty quickly. It was a 2 hour drive from Wynnum area, which we would gladly make again in the future. We love the place and social media doesn't do justice...

Very picturesque, beautiful place to chill and enjoy life. Moved here in the 1950's. Look out at the ocean and watch the waves rolling in. Surfers just enjoying the feeling of belonging to each wave as they ride it. Why wouldn't anyone desire to visit "the Pass". Take a short stroll to Wattego's, only a quick walk at low tide. Riding our pushbikes on the newly laid bituman in 1963, me and me mate could not believe anybody could possibly be silly enuff to build in such an unforsaken and so isolated spot as this as Wattego's. Zero forsight eh. My old man's could have purchased blocks of land at Surfers Paradise for £500 a qtr acre. Nuh. Went back in November 2021, walked to the Pass, then to the Belongil via Clarkes Beach and return to Seaview st. Life's too short...

Beautiful landscape with sweeping views of the Northern Rivers caldera, that play into a thousand views in different weather, light, and time of day. The surf can get a rolling sweep across the bay for a long ride or come in pretty scalloped waves perfect for beginners. A day on a long board or a sunset surf session will give you special photos and memories. A lookout provides great views and The Pass Cafe is open for breakfast in season. Full amenities here plus limited National Park parking - but a turning circle zone will help you drop off and pick up. Picture postcard...
