This place is off the hook and I always walk out feeling completely satisfied. What's that? You don't like seafood? Have a cooked-to-order steak, a choice of about 3 salads, and some rice, curry or pasta instead, mate. Seriously I dunno how this place makes money 'cause when I know I'm going there for dinner I never eat in the day so I can stuff myself senseless on oysters, prawns, mussels, and cheesecake. This time I also got some carbonara, duck, chilli swimmer crabs, a bowl of sweet corn soup, and some roast pork - and there was other stuff I didn't have room for either like bread rolls and watermelon but I can get that at home I guess. But we can't get a chocolate fountain at home can we kids? Nah! Good thing this outfit's got one then eh. As you can imagine this place packs out and when it's chokkas it's pretty hectic at the serveries so I always try to make reservations for a time before 7pm. The carpark fills up pretty early on too so you might end up parking further along but maybe a bit of a walk isnt such a bad idea after the stuffing you're about to subject yourself to. Forgot to mention the price - it's low; and the kids get in for less than the full rate, amazing. Staff - awesome; super attentive, courteous, and always working hard. It's busy as, no surprises there. There's probably some wicked scenery as well but I would have to get my snout out of the trough to appreciate it and like the bread rolls and watermelon, looking out the window is something I can do at home. Seen a heap of Gluten Free options and reasonably sure there were vegetarian dishes as well for example Rice and Lemon Wedges so everyone's got something to enjoy. Go on, be good to yourself for once. You've earnt this.

This place could do so much better. We came here hoping for some decent seafood options and some nice salads and veggie dishes but alas not to be. First red flag = we paid 43 dollars per head which is very reasonable but the food choices were totally underwhelming and reflected the cost. Tired overcooked baramundi, the obligatory prawns, some sort of scanty marinara mix, over cooked bits of meat, chicken skewers. There were other things there too but to be honest it was just disappointing. It could have an amazing presence on the waterfront but it just fails. We would've paid 100 per head for something really good. If I'm honest I don't think I would recommend this spot to people. It's tired, needs a bit of culinary CPR and life breathed into the building. The positive was the ocean right next to us and seeing the fishing boats coming in etc. Apart from that not a "must go there again" spot.

We had the buffet dinner and let me tell you it was disappointing. Firstly, there was no aircon or fans and the line/ wait to get in was ridiculous, service was sooooo slow. Imagine, sweat dripping from every where, you line up with about 50 others that don’t know what deodorant is and select what you want to eat. On top of that, the food was terrible, hot food was cold and vise versa, flys were abundant and no-one seemed to care. Apart from the food being really bad, they need to separate the buffet sections so that is if you want seafood, you go to the seafood section, you want steak, you go to the steak section etc. The way it is, you line up with about 50 people no matter what ya want and it takes forever. The saving grace is the view and the drinks which were great. Photos of the drinks attached.

Calling for a booking was good and customer service in that fashion was good. Food was decent. Other than that the experience wasn't entirely unpleasant but was far from spectacular.

The bar area when you're getting drinks feels cluttered and you don't know where to stand because regardless there's staff darting around you grabbing bottles of water and table service drinks from over your shoulder and either side. This made my friends and I rather uncomfortable.

The buffet is set up in a way that you feel like you're queuing up at a school canteen to grab what you want and subsequently makes you feel rushed because there's people waiting behind you to make up your mind and move on.

The table service staff also left much to be desired with poor knowledge of products (or willingness to find it) and minimal communication skills.

Lastly, the bar staff didn't even seem to know what's going on. When my friends and I ordered a drink from the menu, the bar attendant started making it, then when someone else came behind the bar from table service he said, "Can you finish this, I don't know how to make it." (I am paraphrasing) after which he moved over to the front counter and served people entering the restaurant without even saying anything to us. The staff member he asked to help then took their time finishing their current job of putting things in the fridge before helping. In this instance, the least the first attendant could have done would be to say something like, "I'm sorry but I have to help these people find their seats and set them up, but this is (name) and he'll help you out from here!"

On top of this, after setting up a tab, one of my friends when asking to put drinks onto this tab was told, "Sorry, there's no tab." which was eventually corrected by one of the other staff but I would have thought that if there's a tab all bar staff should at least be made aware.

Overall, we will...

Had dinner here last night. The location is definitely great with a nice view. I wouldn’t visit again.

The buffet was pretty average to be honest. Seafood was average with much of it from frozen stock - you can taste the just thawed taste and excess moisture.

The steak was what was really disappointing. I asked for rare and it was well done. Then I saw why. Steak is pre cooked (to no pink/blood) then put on the grill for the char marks - it’s only going to get tougher and chewy from this method - which it was. The crab was way to salty to enjoy.

Other highlights where - Salt and pepper squid which was chewy and stale from sitting too long - condiments where all low quality pre made (seafood sauce was very pale and the potato salad dressing looked like cheap mayo)

Desert bar was frozen defrosted cakes cut into bite size pieces and ice cream that was a very cheap variety. My dining partner tried the chocolate fountain and could taste the really low quality of chocolate.

Over all poor quality and standard. Service and staff were very nice.

I know this is a cheap buffet at $37 per head, however my recommendation would be to cut down on the variety and increase the quality. Cook steaks to order (or let guests cook their own). Go back to the seafood suppliers and ask how to defrost seafood - frozen seafood is totally okay - you just need to defrost it properly to loose that frozen taste and...
