Lake Daylesford is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of Victoria. My experience here was nothing short of amazing. The serene beauty of the lake is unparalleled, especially during autumn when the foliage paints the surroundings in vibrant hues.
Visiting Lake Daylesford during autumn was truly the best decision. The weather was perfect, and the scenery was breathtaking. Walking along the lake's edge, surrounded by colorful trees reflected on the water's surface, was an unforgettable experience.
Whether you're a nature enthusiast looking for a peaceful retreat or someone seeking a romantic spot for a leisurely stroll, Lake Daylesford has something for everyone. The tranquil atmosphere makes it an ideal destination for relaxation and rejuvenation.
The amenities around the lake are well-maintained, including picnic areas and walking trails, making it convenient for families and solo travelers alike. Plus, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby where you can grab a bite to eat while enjoying the stunning views.
Overall, Lake Daylesford exceeded my expectations in every way. It's a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the region. I can't wait to return and experience its beauty...
Read moreAround 40 minutes to walk around the whole lake depending on how many times you stop for photos or water. Be mindful if you go around the whole lake you will have to cross a road as a bridge goes over part of the lake. It’s fenced and has two zebra crossings. Benches spread out around the lake. Few small jetty’s and viewing spots along the way. Dogs on leash and welcome to have a swim. Cockatoos, geckos, skinks, ducks, geese, galahs, lizards, kookaburras. One set of toilets next to boathouse that are nice. Another set near central springs that looks dodgy. Pram/stroller and bike accessible. Mostly dirt paths so don’t recommend bringing kids scooter. Wheelchair accessible for some areas not all. Path to the left of boathouse goes down to central springs then Sutton springs. (Wasps like the water from the springs) Few history plaques around the lake. One side of lake very shady the other side not too shady at all. Paths aren’t flat all around. Few hilly bits that can be steep and difficult if you have to push a pram/stroller up. Disappointed to see people have used the tree stumps and hollows as rubbish bins. Keep an eye out for small painted rocks with positive...
Read moreWe were there booked for 6:30 show an opted or a shuttle service to the lake since we know there is very little car parking at Daylesford Lake. We thought we’d come early so we can have early diner and perhaps wander around town but was too cold so we decided to eat in a restaurant. But it was still early so we drove to the lake an found plenty of car parking so we just stayed there and didn’t take the shuttle anymore. Queued up at 6:15 and we could see the walking path light up with blue and trees well lit as well. Very excited to see the Borealis Lights, which was a pretend aurora borealis, one that you see in Ireland, Sweden or Greenland. It was made of smoke blown by fog machines (I guess) that of course were hidden cleverly and spread out to create a mantle of made up clouds and hit by beaming lights strategically positioned to create a perfect aurora borealis. Very romantic indeed! A wholesome event. There was also a food truck that sells light snacks and a coffee stand on the other side. Very cold 5 degrees temp but we have blankets and so as our pets! We were there until 8:30 with our picnic mats and snacks and food. Enjoyed...
