These markets have a really relaxing atmosphere. The markets open at 10am on most Sundays... not too early, which is what I really like! (I still get my Sunday sleep in!) There are plenty of stalls to look at and plenty of nice food to try. There is no entrance fee and you can usually get a park somewhere close by, although it does normally start to get really busy around 11am. Make sure you bring some cash because a lot of stalls do not accept credit cards or have eftpos. There is an ATM there but I wouldn't always count on it considering its easier just to bring some cash.

These markets are in two great big halls which is great on rainy days. One hall contains a lot of stalls selling clothes, jewelry, leather goods, artwork (pictures/paintings/water fountains/metal sculptures, etc.), record collections and second hand furniture. The other hall contains mostly fruit and vege, meats, cheeses, pastries, various hot foods (at the back of the hall) spirit vendors (e.g. whisky, vodka, gin, rum), juices and plants. There are a few stalls with jewelry and toys around also. Normally there are also buskers at the entrance in this hall which always play good sounding music!

I recommend going for a look and possibly some breakfast and a coffee! Its a great way to spend...

Ventured to these markets today. I was told they have gone off in the past few years due to the greed of the people who run the markets increasing the stallholders's fees. Well, I couldn't believe how few stallholders there were compared to past years. The prices at these markets have always been high, but that's Canberra for you. So I walked around, avoiding the same old, same old stuff. I happened upon one of the weirdest stallholders I've found. This old bloke was selling military literature. His prices were OK, but here comes the kicker. I asked if he had business card. He responded that he did, but not for the the stuff he was selling at the markets? He stated that if I wanted to buy anything off him, I would need to come back at Christmas! I just laughed, as anyone who is turning future business away is an idiot. I explained that I was only visiting Canberra, and had no desire to return in the future. Anyhoo. Are these markets worth visiting? I would say no. The crazy prices, the lack of stallholders and general atmosphere, has really destroyed the once great vibe of these markets. There are better, the locals don't bother with them, so don't...

Five-Star Review: A Fantastic Weekend Market for the Whole Family

The Old Bus Depot Market is an amazing place to visit with the family! It has a fantastic atmosphere, filled with a huge variety of handmade crafts, delicious homemade food, and beautiful plants. Everything here is either handcrafted or locally made, making it the perfect spot to find unique gifts and fresh produce.

One of the best things about this market is the great selection of food. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy a meal, whether you're grabbing a bite of freshly made treats or sipping on a refreshing drink. The market also features live entertainment, adding to the lively and enjoyable vibe.

Parking is convenient, with options available across the road or in front of the glass factory. There are usually toilets on-site, making it easy to spend a few hours wandering through the stalls. Expect to spend around two hours exploring everything on offer—it’s a great way to spend a weekend morning or afternoon.

Overall, this market is a must-visit for anyone who loves unique handmade goods, great food, and a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. Highly...

Located at 21 Wentworth Avenue, Kingston, ACT, Australia 🇦🇺 This is a great market held every Sunday from 9.30am until 2.30pm in a former bus depot. It has a wonderful range of stalls including food, arts and crafts and clothing. We had a great time, I bought some wonderful items such as fresh cannolis, a new umbrella and some toys (that I don’t need but I am a big kid at heart 🤣). There was some live entertainment Including a great band. You could also get fresh fruit and vegetables and fresh baked bread. This is the second time I’ve been to these markets and have really enjoyed them each time. They are just a short stroll from the Dockside Foreshore and have plenty of parking 🅿️ and good toilet 🚻 facilities. They are also very wheelchair 🦼 accessible. Would definitely recommend. Thumbs up!! 👍👍

These markets contain a large variety of stalls offering goods such as plants, bread, clothing, jewellery, other hand-made items and food. The stalls are conveniently grouped into like items. We decided to have lunch here, and chose an Ethiopian stall called Fekerte's Ethiopian Cusine (the spelling is theirs). I had a large spicy beef with rice and an interesting bread called Kita. My wife chose a small spicy bean with rice and a vegetable samosa. The lot cost $28. We enjoyed the meals very much. When they say "spicy" they mean it, although it's not unbearably hot. We also bought some bread from one of the other stalls as it looked irresistible. The items at these markets are high quality, but not overly expensive. It's great that the old building is put to such good use.
