Village Deli Bongaree - Bribie Island Cafe & Delicatessen — Restaurant in Greater Brisbane

Ordered a plain ham and cheese croissant and it was given to me burnt. The ham was black on the edges and the croissant was so dry, crisp and with black burn marks that it would have shattered at the slightest bite. So disappointed as I have ALWAYS had good food there.

I did give you an opportunity to say something and even asked for something else but the lady seemed to be in shock and didn't seem to be able to communicate. I also accept that maybe the ham did have normal black edges but the biggest shock was the croissant which is not supposed to be a dark brown to black but a nice flaky golden brown.

Just popped in to pick up a quick bite to take away. Service was prompt and friendly. I chose a home-made (in house) sausage roll. I wanted it hot so it was heated in a sandwich maker not nuked in a microwave keeping the pastry crispy. Not kept in a pie warmer. Unlike mass produced that have lots of pastry, these are the exact opposite with thin delicious crisp pastry and jam-packed with tasty, succulent meat filling not bread or cereals. I bought a tomato sauce to go with it but didn't use it as it was tasty enough on its own. Not the cheapest sausage roll but we'll worth it for the overall quality. Plenty of street...

If I could give more than five stars I would. Can’t thank Britta from Britta Village Deli Bongaree enough. Not being able to get to Bribie myself, Britta went above and beyond by arranging and dropping off the most wonderful hamper of scrumptious items for a dear friend who lives in Bribie and needed a little cheering up. The hamper was full and very generous and my friend was over the moon with all the delicacies. A huge thank you Britta. I can’t wait to visit your wonderful establishment...
