Read moreWhat a hidden delight!!! You will see a nice array of Australian animals. There are Wallabies, Kangaroos, Quolls, an Eagle, Brown Desert Mice, a Tree Kangaroo, Wombats, Dingo and plenty more. (Goats and Guinea pigs are around somewhere as well, so check them out!) Admission is a gold coin but we felt paper money would help more. (This reserve needs some support). Walkways are raised, in good condition and not slippery. A rainforest area, showcases the diversity of Australian birdlife. We started our walk through an hour before closing. We were rushed by the end, so we should have allowed for longer. So plan for around about 2 hours. Toilets- may have been on site but were not obvious to me. (Once you start the walk you need to make sure you don't need to 'go'). The area for nocturnal animals is a real treat and you need to be still and look carefully-the animals are hard to see. I particularly loved the bouncy Brown Desert Mice...they are impossible to count. See if you can! There are a few snakes ,so if you are bothered by them, be prepared for that. The landscaped gardens are beautiful and well-maintained, providing a peaceful escape from the city. We loved strolling through the park and admiring the diverse flora and residents. The nature exhibits are informative and engaging, perfect for sparking curiosity about our local animals in both adults and children. My child was fascinated by the different species and learned so much!
We were particularly impressed by the friendly and knowledgeable staff who were happy to answer all our questions. They really added to the experience.
