Queens Park Café is a situated in the Queens Park, Ipswich precinct. Situated high on the hill the café commands some of the best views in the area. There is ample parking on the ring road that winds itself in and around this public recreation locale. Disabled parking is available out the front of the café as well as an access ramp leading to the Café front doors. Clean spotless toilets are also situated next to the Queens Park Café. The Managers have gone to a lot of trouble here to enhance the dining experience for their customers with a a choice of inside or outside dining on the deck. With an extensive menu to choose from with options available from Kids Meals, Main Meals, Breakfast Menu, burgers, coffee & tea , etc, etc the food & drink options list is comprehensive to say the least. We were there to have breakfast and of course a coffee or two. Order at the counter, take you number and then grab a table as this Café also offers table service. The food we ordered was perfect with quite generous servings. The coffee hot and strong and we were served with some of the most pleasant wait staff I had encountered in a long time. The Cafe is a part of the Queens Park area and is a great place to start your adventure before heading off to explore the rest of this amazing Parkland. ROAD TRIP'N

Went to queens park this afternoon, decided to have lunch at the kiosk about 2pm. Check website, says open until 4. Got up there at about 2.15 and grabed some menus and saw on the front clearly says breakfast finishes at 2. Fine, so check the rest of the menu and it says kitchen hours are to 3pm. Went up to the counter and the muppet behind the register about 20 past 2 actually took the whole order before saying "sorry i should have said at the start that we dont do kitchen meals after 2'. She litterally entered each item into the conputer/register. No i didnt try to order off the breakfast menu, we ordered hamburgers, nachos and kids nugget meals. Haveing to get kids settled and work out what everyone wanted to eat after i had taken reasonable steps to check they were still open, it was a pain in the rear. I also took a timestamped photo of the menu showing the 3pm advertised close time, taken as we were leaving at about 2.30. Kinda not happy.

This is a great venue within an amazing community facility. Unfortunately the coffee is revolting, on the past 2 occasions I've sent my coffee back due to it being so bitter it's undrinkable. Someone please register the shots and learn to flush your heads. It's busy, the venue and decor is tired and dirty, you get stuck to the plastic table covers. The menu is mainstream colonised food lacking flavour, lacking diversity and lacking culture albeit boring "nachos". No evolution in food here for over a decade and catering to an older Caucasian demographic. All fish, calamari, burgers etc are processed preportioned frozen type thrown in the deep fryer. The cakes are all bought in. Everything is fast and lacks personality like a fast food chain. This is not the place for coffee snobs or foodies but a good consistent institution. If you love mainstream tasteless food and staff that don't look you in the eye then this place is for you!

We've been a few times and usually have a good experience. This morning the food was good, however the 'smoothie' that we ordered had no flavour. It tasted like ice with a little bit of pink colouring. We very respectfully explained this to one of the waitresses and asked that the smoothie please be remade in a take away cup instead (we had finished our food and therefore wanted to take the drink away). The waitres had no issue with our request. A couple of minutes later, one of the other staff returned and told us very rudely, "this is the smoothie you complained about not having enough berries so I've added more in for you". It was the same drink (glass, straw etc) and simply just had a ton of raspberry syrup added into it. While that was frustrating in itself, it was her attitude that was absolutely appalling. She slammed the cup on the table and walked away staunching my wife out (giving her a disgusting death stare all the way back to the counter). She was clearly offended that the smoothie wasn't up to their usual high standards. Reacting in such a childish and aggressive manner however was absolutely disgusting. We weren't upset about the first smoothie being off. Sometimes a mistake happens and somebody doesn't make it how it should be. Being asked for it to be re-done properly shouldn't be an issue and should definitely not trigger such...

Had chips n gravy with a cup of tea and a coffee. Almost all was good the people were great, the atmosphere was great, but when it came to the food (chips) it wasn't. Chips were alright but the gravy which you pay extra for, was like water, in fact water would have more substance to it. It needs to be thicker to go over chips. That spoilt my venture to queens park cafe. Long time ago they actually knew how to make gravy. Maybe it's just a cost cutting exercise to make more profit. Not completely happy! Believe it or not, we went back because we have a dog, so they allow them. Once again I ordered chips with gravy, this time they served good thicker gravy which was good. However, I realised that the extra charge for gravy is $3.00 which is outrageous for the little you get. Then it came to paying and I was told the MILK for my tea would be $1.50 so I had black tea. Prices are actually outrageous for what you get, but the atmosphere is good for you and your dog. WHEN WILL THEY CHARGE MORE FOR A FLAT WHITE COFFEE IN STEAD OF A BLACK ONE BECAUSE IT HAS MILK IN IT. come on with the tea. Wake up and don't be so penny pinching ! ! ! ! ! It's been several weeks now since this review and it's extension and this cafe doesn't even take time to acknowledge or make a reply or comment. Not good business....

We spent $70 on breakfast for 2. The “signature breakfast” was undercooked and came with a couple of tiny and thin slices of bread, no chutney or sauce, just dry cooked food. Zero flavour added. The latte was very small and mostly ice. We went back to the counter to order another latte and ask for sauce for some sort of flavour with the breakfast. Another $10 charged for a drink and a tub of sauce which wasn’t received. Another 10 minutes later back to the counter to ask where the sauce was because by now the undercooked food was also getting cold. This time I was given a small tub of bbq sauce on the spot without having to wait. The other dish ordered was the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel which was pre-made ready in the display cabinet. While anywhere else you can eat these fresh, I received it heavily toasted without having asked for this - or being asked if I wanted it toasted. I’ve never seen anyone sell a toasted cream cheese and salmon bagel, and for a reason because the taste was awful. Then only decent part of the meal was the orange juice and the bottled water. We didn’t finish our meals and left hungry and $80 out of pocket. Staff were not interested in feedback. Don’t expect anyone to ask you “how was your meal” or any other type of decent service you would expect from...
