Read moreDid the MCG tour back in July 2022. We had booked for a 11:30am tour and it was meant to be groups of ten (Must’ve been due to Covid restrictions)
We arrived early so we could go to the toilet and relax. The elderly host who was a guide told us they're starting the tour at 11:15am but I mentioned we were booked for 11:30am, she barked back stating it’s starting early. She got grumpy when I told her two from my family were going to toilet.
We were in a group totalling roughly 18, many more as the website said the maximum was. Most were from other domestic states and my in laws were from Mumbai, the host did very well to remember where the white people came from then said “And wherever else you came from”.
It was extremely rushed. The heading out to the ground is just a marketing tool (You only head to the boundary fence on the fake turf) so that can be done at any cricket ground.
Done it once so no point doing it again or wait until a bit of fresh blood start doing these tours. The elderly still have the old school way of not being...
Read morePrivate tour of the MCG including the Australian Sports Museum. What an experience! This is the top shelf tour offered at the MCG and it was worth every cent. We were shown around the inner sanctums of the MCG including the cricket club private rooms, player change rooms, media areas and were able to stand in the centre of the oval to take in the view. Other tours don’t have this access. Our tour guide Carol was a star performer. She’s a volunteer (like all guides) and really made the experience special. The tour price includes entrance to the Australian Sports Museum. For cricket fans there’s a particularly great 11 minute life size hologram performance by Shane Warne talking about his life and career. The producers would’ve had no idea how quickly this would become...
