I'm like to write two reviews for the Hugh Trumble Cafe because it is SO different on different occasions. On non-match days, it's great. A wide variety of freshly prepared meals (all under $17 for generous sized serves), with a constantly changing, always interesting menu. It's certainly "no frills", but for $17 you wouldn't expect many). Highly recommended. On match days, however, it's a very different story. A never changing menu - and the prices have gone from $17 to around $25. On our two recent visits, the food was poor - parma that seemed to have been in the oven for hours, seafood pasta with2 prawns and not much else - uninspiring at best, completely unacceptable at worst. Loved the interior makeover, but the food was very average. You would think a roast beef roll would be pretty standard - crusty roll, roast beef and gravy. Read moreI have dined in the Hugh Trumble Cafe for many years. Friday evening the meal was almost inedible.Even the bowl of chips was left 3/4 full when the waitress removed the plates. Chicken so dry it was tasteless.The waitress of her own volition sent the supervisor over to our table as she could see the meals had hardly been touched.Supervisor said she would bring it to the attention of the kitchen.
