On the weekend my GF and I attended a function to celebrate Hawthorn's 2014 belting of Sydney in the AFL Grand Final. During booking these tickets for the event the question came regarding 'special needs/requirements'. I am currently requiring the use of a walking aide due to ongoing medical issues with my lower back and left leg....because of this I made a request for a high chair to be set aside/reserved for me so I wouldn't need to use a lower seat or fight for a higher chair. Lower seating makes standing up and sitting down very difficult. The Hawthorn staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating to my needs. They even made sure that I had a chance to get photos without the need the need to wait in line. I also wish to thank my fellow Hawks supporters for their understanding of me 'queue jumping' based on my physical disabilities/limitations. Cheers to you all. The function was a great success, well Emceed by Lehmo(a Hawthorn diehard) and the insights by the ex players were honest and, at times, very cheeky. Well done Hawthorn and well done to the MCG for providing such a perfect space for this event. I dare say it might have been a little too small had more members taken up the offer of purchasing a ticket for the event. But, as it happened, the room was perfect. Thank you to all involved. I wish to add an extra 'thank you' to the parking staff at Yarra Park. Due to my current disability mentioned above I have applied for an Accessible Parking pass. My council has been a little slow in providing the physical card for my GF's vehicle but upon showing the parking staff the many emails from my local council with all of the relevant approvals and 'delivery of my vehicle tag' information the gate staff made the correct decision to allow me to park near to the ground. I thank them for their sensible assessment of my needs as walking more than 150 metres is currently near to impossible for me. Cheers gang you made my day that much...

Being of an Indian origin, fireworks take place on a large scale and also it's an integral part of the Indian festivals. What I found attractive was that there were so many people of different race, colour, creed all assembled there to view this beautiful fireworks from a distance. I remember the bats that were flying out in scores was creating a silent furore in the hearts of many fearing a stampede but all was clear soon and the picnic was in motion. Unique picnic baskets that opened up like mats. Glow chain and belts all came up as it got dark. The fireworks over and all silently dispersed in lines to stations. The trains were also arranged for dispersal. It was all really nice. Enjoyed every...
