I’ve eaten here before and it’s been really good and was good service. However, our experience last night was terrible. I felt sorry for the waitress - yes, one waitress who was trying to manage the whole restaurant on her own and one cook who worked so slowly - one burger st a time (yes we watched her). Terrible management rostering with two big sporting events on in town so the restaurant was extremely busy. We waited 20 mins to place our order. We then waited 45 minutes for food! We waited 30 minutes to receive our drinks which came in the farm of cans unopened plonked on the table. We had to ask for glasses and waited another 10 minutes for those to arrive. We had to find our own cutlery and napkins from the bench at the side of the dining room as none were offered. Quite a few people walked out. The food wasn’t bad. The beef burgers all seem to go down well. However, my Souther Crunch chicken burger was a little pathetic, overcooked crumbed chicken with no taste and very sloppy coleslaw. The Moroccan lamb wrap although very tasty, for the price paid was a very meager portion - a large wrap, lots of salad and hardly any lamb. Probably won’t come back here again which is a great pity as it’s in such a prime location for the MCG...

If you’re looking for the perfect mix of chill vibes, top-tier shisha, and mouthwatering food, Route 66 Bar & Shisha in East Melbourne is an absolute gem. From the moment I stepped in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming – dim lighting, stylish decor, and great music that sets the tone just right for a relaxing evening.

The shisha was hands down one of the best I’ve had in Melbourne , smooth, flavourful, and lasted long without getting harsh. They have a great variety of flavors, and the staff are happy to help you pick or even mix for something custom.

Food-wise, this place seriously delivers. I tried the burgers and wings both were packed with flavour and served fresh and hot. The portion sizes were generous and definitely worth the price. Drinks menu was solid too, with a good mix of cocktails and mocktails.

But the real standout? The staff. Super friendly, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable the entire night. It’s clear they actually care about the customer...

Very impressive new diner-style bar and grill opened just across from the MCG in East Melbourne. We took our family plus an extra teenager here, and got great burgers and wraps. Beer and wine as well, and there are American-style loaded milkshakes with Kit Kats, Biscoff biscuits etc. Food-wise, I had the Salmon Burger which was excellent. My wife enjoyed the Veggie Extravaganza wrap - I tried it as well and it was great - with nice chickpea and lentil filling and good amount of spice. The teenagers had the Cheesy Little Burger (kind of like a slider size burger with chips - great for small eaters) and Guacamole Galore Chicken Burger (which was massive). They do chips and soft drink as a meal deal scenario for $7 extra, which is great if you don't want all the extras. We were very impressed, and the people running the restaurant made a point of serving us and popping over to see if we enjoyed the food, which was very thoughtful. Definitely be back - food was...

What a lovely surprise in Melbourne. Their burgers are simple and yet genuine but mostly delicious. I have tried burgers all over the world and this one was great. I love the atmosphere, I could see the chef cooking with the open kitchen, the bar is cozy and cool, recreating the scene of an American 60’s diner. The manager came to check on me all the times. Various selection of wines and beers and prices are honest. Will definitely ce back for one of their burgers and meals

A new burger option on the Wellington Road strip in addition to Mad Patties that I’ve never seen many people visit during the day. I had the southern crunch chicken burger and I was expecting amazing things at $18 a pop. The chicken itself was kinda bland and I found the bun a bit stodgy but the coleslaw inside (while very messy), was very fresh. Don’t know if I’d come back based on this experience, because I’ve always had tasty experiences up the road at Mad Patties.
