Love coming here and will be our regular spot from now on, came for a party a few weeks back then back again with family. It’s fun and you get a good amount of time skating even if you don’t want to be in the games! Food is good and staff are nice too. Good price for 2 hours and a large rink and heaps of seating too
The only thing that makes me not want to come back is the experienced skaters, had the same issue the 2 times I’ve been where they cut you off, slide in small gaps or go really fast straight past people, we keep to ourselves and are mindful of others I would expect that the experienced skaters do the same thing. I did have a word with one of the staff to talk to the guy on the floor unsure after they talked if anything was said to the guy and if it was he didn’t show much care and went on to knock my daughter and family I was with after it. It scared my daughter who is a pretty good skater but still iffy out on the rink. I saw a lot of kids fall over because of the experienced peoples lack of consideration and it’s not fair it’s meant to be a fun time for everyone they shouldn’t be worried about older people knocking them over. I did appreciate her stance on it and there’s only so much she can do but management needs to have a policy on this as I’m sure there are times and places for this sort of skating.
There was also something about not wearing hats but apparently staff aren’t on the same page both saying two seperate things so unsure who to listen to as one said something about although I think it’s the least of the concern...
Read moreI have mixed feelings about this place.
I'm giving it 4 stars for the nostalgia which they've nailed. Also I appreciate the table section for spectators as well as the fact that spectators only have to pay $1 entry.
The rink is large and clean. I visited on a Saturday afternoon when there were a billion kids parties happening but somehow it was still possible to skate (not very fast mind you).
Announcements are very hard to hear especially if you're not on the floor. It's better than some venues I've been to but it's still pretty bad. The announcements are important yet it's difficult to run the place efficiently when most people cannot hear them.
The games run to strange rules that don't seem to always follow logic. I think this happened as there were too many children and the games needed to speed up (ie eliminate people more quickly).
One HUGE problem is the overall quality of hire skates which is VERY poor, and the extremely limited supply of inline skates. If you don't arrive early, or if you need to swap the size for inlines, you're...
Read moreFirst time ever at this venue, went for the adults only horror skate theme and the people did not disappoint! Everyone seems to really commit to dressing up and decorating it was so cool! Even had a Halloween photo wall area which everyone loved!
Staff were friendly and helpful - even kindly charged my phone for me which was very much appreciated as I live an hour away and needed enough battery to get home!
I did not purchase anything from the canteen but it was the typical food and drinks you'd expect (hot dogs, ice cream, Powerade etc)
Toilets were basic but clean, loved the idea of the shared mirror and sink area separate to the toilets themselves (it'll make sense when you see it.)
Venue is located off a slip lane and there seems to be plenty of parking and the venue can be seen from a distance due to its stand-out aesthetic.
It also seemed like everyone knew each other (I went alone) which gives the impression this place has a sense of community which is really comforting.
Can't wait to attend more...
