Every year in March a group of us head off bush, out to Taponga/Burnt Bridge/Horseshoe Bend (whichever campsite we get) for a week of camping. Some of us (most) are coming from the Mornington Peninsula and a couple from close to Melb CBD and this beautiful parkland in Healesville is a great place to stop, stretch the legs, have something to eat/drink and go to the toilet before we start driving the 'windies' up the mountain. Seems to be a popular stop-over point for many others too as every year we see plenty of other 'campers' with their caravans & camp trailers, stopping to for a "breather".

Keep an eye out for market dates. The market stall holders tend to get snotty about human beings on the periphery of their setup.
