Sammy's charcoal chicken has always been a great place for a feed. Growing up in Eltham for me, Sammy's charcoal chicken was a local icon and just about every kid in town raved about Sammy's chips. They traded our nuggets for a quarter chicken that appeared to be on a strict no-moisture diet. A noble effort, but my kids weren't impressed.

The chips were certainly plentiful, but their journey home in a plastic bag turned them into a soggy science experiment.

The food is good but if you have any dietary restrictions this place is not worth going to. Twice in a row now I've requested something to not include bacon which I've been informed can easily be done and twice I've watched them put bacon in the burger, get reminded by their co-worker of no bacon and take it out out of view and then bring it over.
