7 of us for breakfast... Took 15 mins before someone took our order. There were still spare tables and according to reviews they weren't busy as they could be. Took 20 mins to get coffee which each one came out over a 10 min period. I ordered an espresso which took 12 mins to come ou and they charge $2 extra for 1tsp maple syrup instead of sugar and didn't tell me until paying at the end. Honestly I could have missed the sweetner if I knew that. Asked them about the $2 they don't use discernment. Manager was rude and took zero customer care. Will not be returning and we turned 6 people away as we walked out letting them know there was a very very long wait for coffee if they wanted efficient and fair pricing this was not the place to come to. Food was nice but not worth the price tag overall and customer service didn't make up for that part sadly. (Update: 20 mins later after reading through some other reviews. This Cafe seems to have ongoing major customer service issues and over pricing on small things. Reading the justification responses from cafe management, reiterates the attitude recieved in store today. Rather than providing remedy they are the customer feel like they are at fault for even bringing something up. If they are too busy to care and charge what they do, then maybe they can put on another staff member or 2 who specialise in customer service with a smile and discernment skills) .............. 19th April 2024 UPDATE google doesn't allow replies to business so... Reasons why I have reduced my star to 1. 1. Replying like a hurt child doesn't help your case. The spelling of my family name is clearly written for you to copy direct from google. 2. Maybe you aren't aware of peoples dietetary requirements.... I didn't order maple syrup from the menu. I had finished my food and asked the waitress for a double espresso and if If your guys had maple syrup?. She said yes and I said can i please have a small amount with my coffee. Sugar i can not have, honey is too high in fructose and maple syrup is easier to keep blood sugar stable whilst enjoying my straight black coffee which was definitely not a double but i chose not to complain at the time. 3. We were the ones turning customers away not you. Reading reviews carefully helps. You had tables available. 4. You didn't simply say 'everything costs money these days' you said 'everything costs more these days'. With that, are you charging for the sugar on the table? I was not told when I ordered the sweetner that there was a charge for it. I questioned the price on paying she told me and I had heard her say to her say to another customer "we have to put everything through" as an extra. This would be under your instruction. You will go out of business IF you keep this unreasonable penny pinching up. 5. Was $2 and to feel unreasonably justified really worth this negative feedback? 6. Try resolving a customer's small issue at the beginning. People can see when customers are actually in the wrong and being nasty. I had been polite and 7 of us left knowing it is not a place we will be recommending people to visit of coffee or a bite in Healesville in the future. 7. IF you are under staffed then let customers know. Most are understanding. But.. From the look through the google reviews this is your normal. Put more staff on or provide better remedy when you falter. Don't wait for negative reviews to then make zero effort to take responsibility. An empty 'I apologise' followed by a slap 'its your fault' doesn't help your case either.

Run by bullies. Please note that this review is based on an Airbnb that the owners run at the back of the cafe but reflects the manners of the cafe owners too. Although we parked in the designated zone, the owner boxed us in and demanded $140 to let us leave. Just because family members dropped by to take photos together for memories of an otherwise special day. Photo attached as evidence which shows a custom $140 charge. As we were a part of the bridal party of a wedding, we paid to avoid confrontation. Extremely rude and intimidating. Sneered at while ordering coffees and highly overpriced food. 20% Sunday surcharge was higher than usual and felt like a cashgrab. It's a real shame as the town is otherwise lovely, charming and very friendly. Please visit the town but steer clear of this cafe!

We came through at about 9 on a Saturday. Service was as quick as you’d expect on a Saturday morning - no complaints here. We are not from the area so I think the menu was very fairly priced and had some interesting things on there. My husband and I both got the pumpkin and feta smash which we both looooved. I also loved that the chai was made from individual spices - haven’t had a chai like that before. I really loved that they gave little steak knives (I don’t know if they have a different name) to cut the sourdough bread because everywhere else I’ve been just gives you a serrated butter knife which is impossible to use!

With so many cafes to choose from we picked the wrong one. Waited at door to be seated for 5 minutes with no acknowledgement. Got a table then took 15 minutes to come back to take the order. After waiting 55 minutes more, still no food. The table next to us ordered and food on table in 20 minutes. When we go to ask they said they were plating up now. We were not in a rush but service was poor at best and when we left there were only 5 tables of customers. Paid for our drinks and left to find a better experience. My suggestion, look elsewhere.

Edit: We watched as people entered and left so there was no stopping entry on your behalf. The other 4 tables in the Cafe when we left had all entered well after we did. There was another 2 young ladies a couple of tables over that left after ordering as there was no follow up service. When we ordered there was no explanation as too how long the wait would be. The care factor was not there, and to get told they were plating up as we left, when tables that arrived well after us only suggested that our order was lost or forgotten. Should have left without paying a cent. Really only cost me time as the place across the road we left and went too was fantastic. Service is king, you failed on all accounts and your response about sick staff is your issue...

I think the warmth and quality of this place has left with the previous owners. My experience today was very disappointing.

The lentil soup was very flavoursome and it was a good, fair portion. I had ordered a smashed avocado on toast and what I got was a tiny amount of avocado on two pieces of toast. The second piece of toast underneath was not even half covered with avocado!! I told the waitress about this afterwards and all she had to say was, '"ok" and actually walked off without another word.

When we wanted to order coffee and cake after our meal, we waited about 10 mins before having to call someone over and still the table hadn't been cleared. Some of the staff just seemed a bit unconcerned and just cold. Not to mention the woman at the coffee machine. I was interested in the coffee that they serve and I had asked her about it and it seemed as though I was bothering her, answering me very shortly or answering me with the price of the beans when I did not ask anything about the cost.

I felt very unwelcome, in comparison to the previous occasions I had been to this cafe when the previous owners were around. I am very disappointed about the service and the care given when we voiced our issues with our meal and general questions. So...
