Popped in for an impromptu quick bite and a cocktail. Two entries into the venue - one from the twirly staircase off from Southbank which makes it a lovely entrance or the other from SouthGate precinct. The moment you walk in, it is a beautiful and pleasant surprise. Speakeasy vibes and decor with moody blue hues. Really classy looking place on the inside with some nice relaxing swings and tables. Would be perfect to meet a friend, a date night or even if you wanted to have a drink solo.

Sat outside with the air misters going which were a nice relief from the heat. Due to a function we didn’t get a great view but it was nice to be outside on their balcony area. The vibe on the balcony is a little different, less classy and more casual - still nice.

Cocktails were delicious with our favourite being the Kings Flip which was banana rum and peanut butter whiskey - Superb! And the sour mistress was nice too. You can tell the bartender knows what they’re doing.

Food options were more light bites with tapas style Korean Sliders, calamari, baked Brie and a few pizza options. The food was really nice and tasty so even though options were minimal, they did them very well!

Only cons: No toilets in the venue (but there are some right next door as part of Southgate precinct) and the cocktails were a tad small in volume for the price. The place was really quiet for a Thursday evening - Perhaps some happy hour cocktail deals would draw in some people to this beautiful venue, noting the tough competition along Southbank.

Will definitely be back and will opt to sit inside next time to experience the...

I attended a work function at this bar on Friday 11/11/22 - something my team were greatly looking forward to, and that we had made a generous pre payment to secure. The location is great, and the space the team set us up with was fantastic.

Within an hour of arriving at the bar, I was declined the ability to purchase a drink - my second of the evening, as I was 'intoxicated'. My male colleagues who had consumed more than myself did not run into this issue - and it then extended to several other female members of my team who had been consuming alcohol carefully - this was after all a work function.

The bar that broke the camel's back however, was when a member of my team who is a person of colour was refused service. Again, we were told this was due to intoxication - but as this person's direct manager I was all too aware of this person's consumption and demeanour - he was potentially the most sober member of the group, drinking carefully at a work event.

As someone who works in medicine, I am all too aware of the importance of the responsible serving of alcohol, however when you are using this as a power move rather than as intended - this is simply unacceptable. Not a single white male member of our team was treated in this way - regardless of how intoxicated they were.

If you'd like a good night out - avoid...

Last night I visited the Waterslide Bar at Southbank and had an absolutely fantastic time!

From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the vibrant atmosphere and the friendly, welcoming staff.

The highlight was the impressive selection of whiskies and cocktails available. This bar has something for everyone.

The service provided by the staff was exceptional. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about their craft. They took the time to understand our preferences and made excellent recommendations. Their professionalism and friendliness added an extra layer of enjoyment to my experience.

The ambiance of the bar was also worth mentioning. With stylish decor, coupled with the stunning outlooks to Southbank, created a relaxed yet sophisticated feel.

It's clear that the Waterslide Bar takes pride in providing a top-notch experience.

Overall, I highly recommend the Waterslide Bar to anyone looking for an exceptional night out. The combination of outstanding cocktails, excellent service, and a delightful atmosphere makes it a must-visit destination.

Thank you, Waterslide Bar, for an unforgettable experience! You have earned my enthusiastic...

This spot is a great place to unwind after hours, with an amazing vibe and both indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the Yarra River. Their cocktails strike the perfect balance of liquor and flavor, and for a bar, they offer an impressive food selection from pizza and charcuterie boards to chicken wings which are my favourite! The sauce is seriously delicious, and if you’re lucky, you might catch their promo: just $1 for 6 pieces! Keep an eye on their page for the latest deals. A huge thank you to Ken for taking care of us throughout the night! Despite the Friday night crowd, he patiently helped us find a better table, making sure we were comfortable. Truly appreciated!

Had an amazing experience at Waterslide Bar! The vibe is cozy and stylish, perfect for after-work drinks. We ordered the patata pizza, braised pork belly bites, buffalo chicken wings, pork sliders, seasonal salad, crumbed zucchini wedges and popcorn cauliflower all super tasty, especially the wings. Cocktails were fantastic too, I loved the Queens Sour and the Blood Orange Spritz. What really impressed me were their Happy Hour deals $6 sparkling wine and spirits, $10 pints, and the $1 buffalo wings on Wednesdays and Sundays are unbeatable. Great spot for food, drinks and atmosphere, highly recommend!
