Riverland is one of my favourite bars in Melbourne, in a great setting right next to Fed Square on the river. Due to months of lockdown, I hadn't been for some time and a celebration with work colleagues brought me here two days before Christmas. Not sure if they are accepting 'walkins' but you do have to register at the entrance and we had booked as there was a large group. Being used to the place being absolutely packed and having to stand and wait in line for a drink, it was a totally different experience this time with plenty of empty tables. Having to order through the QR code means you can't pay by cash, and being forced to pay credit card fees irks me. I also thought it cheeky that the tip default was set at 5% rather than 0, so you had to remember to change this if you didn't want to tip. The drinks menu didn't offer any tasting notes which was disappointing so ordering a glass of wine was a bit pot luck. Other venues have reverted to traditional menus and ways or ordering - going to the bar, using cash etc so not sure why Riverland can't also. On the plus side, the food, fish and chips was really good.

Stepping into Riverland Bar is like finding an urban oasis right in the heart of the city. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind. Our choice of veggie burgers was a culinary delight. The patties were cooked to perfection and garnished with just the right amount of fresh veggies and sauce - a tasty testament to their attention to detail and their commitment to satisfy both vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. The ingredients were fresh, and the flavours were balanced perfectly - just what you want in a great burger! As for the drinks, the selection was impressive. The cocktails we tried were refreshing, with the perfect blend of flavours. Each drink we had was mixed to perfection - strong, but not overpowering. But what truly sets Riverland Bar apart is their exceptional service. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring our glasses were never empty and our needs were met promptly. In a nutshell, Riverland Bar offers a harmonious blend of good food, great drinks, and exceptional service. It's a must-visit spot for foodies and drink enthusiasts alike! 🍔🍹

My recent visit to Riverside Bar for their unlimited pizza and spritz offer was nothing short of spectacular. For two blissful hours, I indulged in a seemingly endless array of delicious pizzas, perfectly complemented by refreshing spritzes. The atmosphere was vibrant and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing evening out. A special shoutout to our young waiter, Jan, who truly made the experience exceptional. Jan's attentive and friendly service went above and beyond our expectations. He ensured our glasses were never empty and that we always had fresh, hot pizza to enjoy. His warm demeanor and impeccable service significantly enhanced our evening, making it one to remember. I highly recommend Riverside Bar for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. With delicious food, great drinks, and outstanding service, it’s a place I’ll definitely return to again and again.

Riverland is the perfect venue for a casual pre-game dinner. Conveniently located along the banks of Melbourne’s iconic Yarra River, Riverland offers plenty of casual dining spaces to kick back with friends, enjoy a drink, snack or something more substantial. The service was friendly, accommodating and efficient, whilst the vibes were chilled and laid back with a great mix of retro funk background music. On the menu was a great mix of snacks, platters, pizzas, burgers and classic staples, complemented by a fabulous selection of wines, beers and cocktails. We couldn’t fault the pizza, warm salad and fries and our wines were on point! Prices were reasonable and the service was fantastic! Highly recommended and definitely a healthier and tastier option than the cafeteria food on offer at the MCG for not much more!

Thank you Riverland bar, had a fun pre-show lunch with a great view of the river and Southbank buildings. Had booked for 2 but they were very accommodating to add a third at the last minute. Food is generous, especially loved the warm salted flat bread with the pumpkin dip. Chips are hand cut and yum with both sauce and aioli. Also had bruschetta and eggplant parmigiana all easily shared. Prices and some ingredients slightly different on printed menu to QR code menu and toilets could be cleaner but that’s ok. Cocktails took a while ordered from QR code but you can order beers on tap straight at the bar and the food came extremely quickly. The live DJ creates a great atmosphere as well as the friendly and helpful staff. Thank you!

Visited for the Hungry Yak pop-up showcasing what are arguably the best pub meals in the country. There was only one veg dish of the bunch, but it was so good that I could overlook my lack of options. The item in question was an incredible, crispy fried haloumi burger from NSW. Paired with a complementary Yak ale, it's the perfect spring bite. I've been to Riverland before to taste their normal menu and can also vouch for it. But what makes the venue are the great river views and consistently lovely staff. All in all, a good causal food and drink spot if you're in that end of the city.
