For 2 adults and 2 children I paid approx $165 plus their activity book. I also had to travel 1.5hr to get there and then back.

The timing it has infront of the shops says it opens at 0930hrs. When in fact it opens at 0900hrs.

Off we went, after passing through the main entry point, and threw the area with screens to design their own characters, we came across a lego castle theme area. We hopped onto the ride and off we went. The boys had fun with it. It was their favourite part of ALL of Legoland!!

I had to inform the operators after our 60-second ish ride finished that the weapons weren't calibrated properly as the boys were having issues as were the adults with shooting the screen.

From there we hopped off and past the red aeroplane. In a very very dull room. It could've been doen so much better. As in, more aeronautical vehicles, or an airport or such.

Kids past it and 'meh' past it. Mind you my Lil 2 love lego. Especially the eldest one that has autism.

We passed into a huge room that had areas of Melbourne built. Which could go dark or bright and illuminate some of the lego with electronics. There was more here for the kids to do, such as racing at flemington.

We went into the area that had a few rides, play areas, eating, movie.

The prices for food and drink were mediocre, especially for pricing.

The movie was OK, issue aside from the lady we had who had a voice that was as bad as nails going down a black board. The movie that's 4D had wind and rain effects. Which we were all informed. The issue is that it didn't make sense to why it had rain when the movie was never cloudy but always sunny. As well as it was a sprinkle or such it was as if you were having a shower. It wasn't calibrated to what was happening in the movie until 5 minutes into it.

All parents in the movie with myself were very displeased with it.

The building lego cars and race track was good for the kids to use their imagination, but that was it. The playground was nice, I'll admit. They didn't have the VR head sets going at the time but also for $25 or so you could do it. For the price you paid it should be free.

There is a ride that an adult must hop on if their child wants to try it. Merlin's Quest or something along those lines. My 5 yr old is to short so I had to paddle like hell. The faster you ride the higher you go, to a certain extent. My issue is that the time frame was short for the kids as well as the peddles. If you go to a gym and hop onto a treadmill or such their is a plastic parts where you can stick your foot in so you toes can get grip or stay in place better.

Just a thought maybe you should add it!

Their was another area in the same location that you enter and had Emma, Ashleigh and few other lego girl pictures around where kids could build some more. There was not much interest in there either or anything that could inspire the kids.

There is a under 5 yr old play ground which is good.

Lastly there was a aquarium area that you enter and you were meant to be able to take photos and make your own lego movie style in a sense. The lego turtle in there had its head missing. And the pads weren't working correctly.

There also was agin was no inspiration or anything related to ocean.

Fix your game Legoland very disappointed. There is so much you could do to attract people and do things. For all the money people spent just to get in there should've been a lot more things for kids to do or atleast interest theme. But greed is becoming a more common theme.

Don't reccomend. Just buy lego off its site or somewhere if looking around. And just have a lego party at your home. Cheaper and won't be disappointed! The kids would even...

Edit: Much appreciate the following up from Ms McGlone with the situation. It's definitely raised our Hope and expectation for Legoland again. We’ll surely watch this space for more sensory and inclusion activities from you guys.

Calling out to "Bad Master Builder" experience _ don't work at Legoland if you took 'sneaky revenge' on children right after they left.

We booked online and paid for the tickets for 2 adults and 4 kids ($36/pp), 2 families with kids from 4-8yrs old. It was expensive for us. But the kids love Lego, so we went. We spent some time at the playground, the Underwater section, the 4D cinema and the Creative Workshop (our last experience). The Workshop should be the highlight of their day. But "thanks" to MASTER BUILDER TEDDY, it was completely ruined. The two boys were so excited, they were the first in line. When Teddy introduced his name, my son got even more excited and said "Liked Teddy Puggy" (it was a character from his favourite book "Captain Underpants"). He got a look from Teddy. Obliviously to the look (he is autistic, and talks heaps when he gets excited), he continuously answered all Teddy's questions, and added words to be funny (he tried to impress the Master Builder with the same name that he saw in his favourite book). He WASN'T being rude, or interrupting other children. He just talked. He listened to Teddy's instructions all the way. The boys finished making their pieces, then broke them down and put them all back as instructed. Teddy announced the session was finished. They both went outside. AS SOON AS the boy went out. Teddy closed the door and SAID TO EVERYONE IN THE ROOM "The good ones stay to receive the reward of a Lego bracelet and stickers for being good. The noisy, rude, naughty boys like them would not have the present." My sister was with them, she was utterly shocked. She said to him "he was not being rude. He is autistic, and only a young child". Teddy REPEATED that only the good kids have the reward and kept handing these out. (Aren’t they part of the experience for the children?) She stayed back to talk to him after everyone went out. She tried to explain the situation to him but he totally dismissed it. He had the audacity to announce "he is studying psychology and works with plenty of autistic kids, the boy is not autistic". WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? I had to be on the waiting list and spent thousands of dollars to get his diagnosis (reports from 3 different health professionals). With one look from Teddy, my boys received a different ‘label’ in front of everyone. Is this how Legoland trained their staff who expected to work with children all day? At no point, Teddy show any empathy, sympathy or understanding, let alone be apologetic. I then went to talk to the manager on shift. He agreed that what Teddy said and how he labelled them, was not right. And that he would talk to Teddy’s supervisor about how his reaction was uncalled for. I was promised a follow-up email would be sent regarding the situation. We left right after as it was such a bitter experience for us. Since then, NOTHING from Legoland, hence I’m writing the review now. Honestly, I only wish that the managers would talk to their staff. So, they will be aware of special needs children and be more understanding. And believe me, there are lots of special needs children and adults who LOVE Lego. Utterly disappointed at a place that means so much to...

A wonderful time at Legoland

When I was in Melbourne my 4 year old and I visited Legoland Discovery Centre at Chadstone. We had such a fun time! The whole place is so neat and tidy and clean and the attractions are so cool. My kid would've probably had the best day of his entire life, except I, as a parent and a Lego parent at that, made a rookie error by allowing us to leave the hotel with an R2D2 Lego mini-fig (I learnt this term that day from Alistair at Legoland).

Of course, despite the agreement when we left our buffet breakfast that morning, that R2D2 would remain in the bag, I spotted R2 on the corner of a Lego creation my son was building in the Lego Friends area. I put R2 back in the bag but when we left to go to the Lego cinema, R2 ended up on my sons knee while watching the movie.

After we left the movie, we were building some cars and racing them, only to realise that R2 was missing. After searching our bags, all over the centre high and low, and going around to all the parents, kids and employees (Emily more than once) it became clear we would never see R2 again.

Of course this was the end of it for Mr 4 and after much debate and tears we decided to purchase a Star Wars Lego set to build later that day. Alistair at the Lego shop was super kind and helpful and patient to both myself and my son, explaining the mini-figurine, the kind of sets R2D2 comes with and where we could possibly find one on its own. He also agreed it wasn't likely it would reappear, either due to being lost amongst the Lego or due to someone rehoming him themselves. The new set along with Alistair’s kindness and interaction halted the tears, as did the little Lego coin he gave him. I left my details with Alistair and we went off to have lunch, visit the Melbourne Jail, the Melbourne Museum and then head back to our hotel for a pre dinner rest (which was near Prahran).

I was very surprised (and happy!) to hear from Alistair much later that evening to tell me someone had miraculously found our R2D2 mini-fig! I was practically speechless - to find a 2cm Lego mini-fig in a place packed full of Lego and kids... It really was trying to find a needle in a haystack. But the needle was made of hay.

I was overjoyed and my son was jubilant. Even better, when we were trying to figure out logistics to get the R2D2 back (I assumed via post would be best), Alistair advised that Emily - who we had spoken to several times during the search - would be passing through the city and would deliver R2 directly to us!

This is the kind of extra I try to do day to day and role-model for my son so to see it come back to us in such a wonderful and unique way was wild.

On top of this, when we received R2D2 back from his city adventure, they (unsure exactly who but sure Alistair/Emily) had included a small ziploc bag with a bunch of Lego pieces and the instructions to create a Galaxy Explorer, a small little shuttle of some kind which now sits on top of my son's bedside table. I just want to say thank you thank you thank you to Alistair and Emily for their kindness, patience and help and Emily for being such a legend and dropping R2D2 off to us! It honestly made our trip. Also thanks to Miles who was the one who actually found R2D2. I love showing my son the world and the kindess that is in it and this has been such a fun story for him to...

Kids mini theme park can usually only be entered if you enter with a kid . First thing you do when you enter is take pictures with the green screen. You can click on redo if you dont like the pic. You also can take more than one picture as well but we only took one QR card from the pile so did only one. If you buy the lanyard, theres some activities on it and you go around the place finding stamps to emboss on the different pages (one stamp was faulty but they got the maintenance person working on it as soon as they can so once we finished in around 3.5hrs it was fixed aleady). The 2nd room had a few big screens where you do activities (changing clothes on all the lego people on the screens in time) and supposedly get a special lego piece at the end but the place didnt have it and staff was unsure about it (they will ask Head office about it but gave us some free random people lego). 3rd Area had a lot of mini people and display of places, with buttons and wheels to make certain parts in the display move. Beyond this area there is the shooting ride open at certain times for up to 5 people which secures you in with a bar & as you go around you shoot various items to gain points. Somewhere in there will randomly take a pic of you for purchasing later. At the end you will see your scores on your vehicle display screen. There is another ride also open only at certain times which can only accepts 90cm & taller kids, you move in a cirlcle in a flying vehicle and pedal away. There are 2 areas with climbing play areas - one more bigger one. There are also many other lego building stations, one sea area has sea creature lego displays and teaches you on the screen step by step how to build certain sea creatures but it wasnt that easy to find the exact same pieces as instructed. They also have some tablet which zooms in on your work. There was the 4D lego movie which was 30min. They had 2 different ones but we chose to watch only 1. They had the wind blowing & rain sprinkles going on through different parts of the movie. A workshop for 5years old was also open at certain times. There was a disabled toilet which also had a baby change table. Food was ok but they didnt accept cash... we had a hot dog and popcorn. Staff was friendly.

This place has a lot of potential, especially with the Lego brand, but it felt a little half done and sometimes lacking in thought. Some things were Legoland Melbourne's fault, and others were the Lego's (in Denmark I assume) fault. The creative workshop was a real let down. It essentially entailed going into a room and building a small model from a set of instructions (which you didn't get to keep). We thought we were going to get a real workshop that challenged and taught us new ways to build. Legoland in Melbourne could really fix this, and make something wonderful, but instead it's a real let down. There needs to be more thought put into this. Another thing was the film - a Nexus knight film. It's was terrible. The story was all about creativity but the story itself was boring, cliche and lacked creativity. Hats off to Legoland Melbourne because the 4D cinema was cool but Lego Denmark, come on, I know you are producing for children but show a little respect. Kids know what good films are. That being said, there are some really cool things here. The carousel, the build a car and race it area, and the themed areas were you can just build whatever... And of course, the Lego store at the end! :)

Chadstone Mall Review: A Great Day Out with Room for Improvement I recently visited Chadstone Mall and had a delightful experience overall. The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly Legoland, which proved to be a fantastic spot for kids. The interactive exhibits and creative play areas kept the little ones engaged and entertained for hours. The intricate Lego models and hands-on building opportunities are impressive and cater to kids of all ages. However, while Legoland itself is quite impressive, I feel that there could be more activities and attractions for kids outside of Legoland. Expanding outdoor play areas or adding more kid-friendly amenities throughout the mall would enhance the overall experience for families. Aside from this, the mall offers a wide variety of shops and dining options, ensuring there is something for everyone. The atmosphere is lively, and the staff at various stores were helpful and friendly. In conclusion, Chadstone Mall is a wonderful destination for a family day out, especially with the addition of Legoland. With some added outdoor activities and attractions for kids, it could become an even more appealing spot for families.
