Just a local park but completely resonant of this part of Melbourne.
Laid out on a mild slope, there's a footy ground with pavilion at the lower end, a landscaped section with paths & deciduous trees in the middle, and a very dignified war memorial & bowls club at the higher end. Oh, and a very good milk bar / cafe on one side.
Kids, dogs, joggers, afternoon strollers, sports teams and people simply sitting reading the papers all manage to happily coexist, collectively enjoying the chilled vibe.

There is a playground on the Wood Street end which the kids adore and the parents who can get a break and chat with grown ups. Note that you can only park in either Wood Street or Denham Street.
