Burger Road Hawthorn — Restaurant in Melbourne

Seemed like a happening place (for when our lockdown ends) with music playing and a fairly friendly group of staff. Take-away business was booming when I attended, but my waiting time was quite reasonable.

In the end I felt that my burger and chips were, unfortunately, overpriced for the quantity and quality of what I received.

The meat patty and the cheese in my Sheriff Burger were good, but otherwise I felt they skimped on the other ingredients - definitely a little different to the picture in the menu. The burger didn't have many pickled jalapenos, the kransky sausage and bacon were undercooked and not plentiful, and overall I would have expected not to be hungry after spending almost $25 on a burger and chips.

Speaking of the chips, mine were largely soggy and undercooked. I'd say this was a matter of technique because they didn't look too bad, but a large number of them were still fairly hard in the middle and I could taste that "frozen old chip" flavour which was fairly unpleasant.

I wasn't impressed to find out that their Crispy Southern Fried Chicken in some of the chicken burgers has the skin left on. I know this is a matter of personal taste, but I feel like fried chicken is fatty and greasy enough without leaving the skin on.

Anyway, nothing here was horrible, but for the money I paid, nothing really stood out so I will probably look a little closer to home next time.

I chanced upon Burger Road while searching thru Google maps. My husband is on biz trip to Melbourne and I joined him. At first, I sent a pm via messenger to inquire about the parking since we have a rented car. They replied immediately and gave us info. I thanked them and apologised as we are tourist and not familiar with the surrounding. But Burger Road was simply very accomodating and if we still have any questions, we can always ask. So yeah, we visited on Wednesday night for dinner. At the counter, my husband asked what is highly recommended. They gave their advises. Our order arrived and normally I dont usually finish my burgers (whatever brand I eat) but this time, I absolutely love their burgers. Its so juicy, delicious and you wont get tired of the taste. pretty disappointing experience here. I ordered the “buffalo city” chicken burger, and they don’t allow you to swap ingredients so I had to pay an extra $2 to remove pickles and get one singular slice of tomato. The coleslaw was all dressing and hardly any actual slaw. This, combined with the heavy amount of sauce completely drowned the burger and made the bun fall apart into soggy pieces. We ordered a regular cheesy fries, and were instead given the most expensive “chooky cheesy fries”. We were okay with it at first, but then later realised we had gotten charged the extra $6 for it, despite clarifying with the server that this was not what we ordered.
