On arrival, welcomed and showed straight to our room as it was empty- before check in time. ||Room- a double bunk for our family of 4. The room was smallish, but just as per the picture online except new fresh quilt covers and bedding, which was nice. Plenty of cupboard space and 4 drawers. Beds were sturdy and comfortable.||Heating- I was worried I’d be cold, but the whole lodge was toasty and warm. ||Kitchen- shelf in fridge and cupboard allocated to our room. Plenty of space for our 4 days of food. We eat early evening and found it less crowded before 6.30. Everyone was friendly and shared the space just fine. We cooked all of our food because of the high costs of restaurant meals up the mountain. Salt, pepper, foil, glad wrap, utensils, all the pots and pans you could possibly need provided.||Bathroom- it is share facilities, but that is reflected in the cost. The 4 showers were clean, water warm, never once had to wait for a turn. Toilets clean and well looked after. The decor is a bit dated, but that didn’t bother us.||Breakfast- This was included in our booking. Choice of 5 cereals, tin fruit, toast, juice and the wonderful pancake machine. We were super happy with the breakfast provided.||Lock- We wondered why there wasn’t a lock on the room door. There are lockers available.||Storage- Bottom floor has a luggage store room, board/ski room and drying room with allocated space for each room. Great facilities. ||Shuttle stop nearby- 50m. We hired our gear from ‘Duck in’ the evening before, which is just a few doors away and give Terama guests 10% discount. Avoided the early morning rush.||The managers were friendly and available. Happy to chat and give advice on the Village.||Terama is owned by a group of about 20 families. We met a couple during our stay. I’ve read a few negative comments on other reviews about them. They were observing what was happening in the lodge for sure, but as along as you respect the rules and clean up after yourself, you’ll be fine. We had some lovely conversations with some of them. Do yourself a favor and book your parking, taxi, b tags, lifts, lessons all before hand. We collected our b tags and lesson tickets in the Buller Sports store when picking up our chains in Mansfield. ||We would not hesitate to book Terama again. Gave it 5 stars for value for money, clean,...

Read moreWelcomed by Heath (?) who was really friendly and helpful and showed us around and to our room. Toasty lodge throughout. The room was basic but comfy with bunk beds, large built in cupboard space to hang clothes, store bags etc, small chest of drawers and a counter with a large mirror. Yes, the doors don’t lock but there was a safe in the cupboard and also for a dollar or two, lockers downstairs. There is a chain on the door you can put on at night if it makes you feel safer. Everyone really nice. Some crazy kids and their families the first few nights but they moved on. Breakfast each morning included in the tariff with a pancake machine that makes tiny pancakes but the kids loved them. Different breads for toast, butter, jams, marmalade, Vegemite etc, a selection of cereal, orange and apple juice and a coffee machine thing that you can use whenever that churns out whatever kind of coffee or hot chocolate you fancy. The kitchen / eating area and lounge all very comfy. There’s a pool table that’s $1 a go but that was waived when we were there. Kitchen has plenty of space and everything you could need. Showers downstairs as well as drying room and laundry (free to use). One men’s and one ladies toilet upstairs too which is handy. Very close to bus stop 5 or 6 for the free village loop bus to get u to the village, summit, ski school etc. I recommend taking stop 6 on the way out and stop 5 on the way home as both will then give you a downhill walk which is handy in ski boots! The walk is way less than 100m. All in all, Terama is a fab option for people on a budget. It is warm and welcoming and has everything...
