Mt Buller Apartment Rentals — Local services in Hume

Almost $5000 & NO HOT WATER for a 3 night stay in ski resort?? Chalet 705 was a joke. Falsely advertised and extremely misleading. The photos and the state of the apartment were extremely inaccurate. We stayed here for a milestone birthday celebration and unfortunately it was really disappointing to say the least. The first 2 nights of our stay we had no hot water, plumber came out twice and could not fix. Electrician came out on the final day of our stay and by the mid morning we were able to have our first hot shower. What’s more insulting is the electrician advised us, this had happened before and his recommendation to upgrade their systems were denied due to a budget shortage. The resort wasn’t at full capacity and not once were we offered a hot shower elsewhere or alternate accommodation. How is this acceptable in the freezing cold Winter at a ski resort?

The bathrooms were absolutely filthy and not professionally cleaned. Asked twice for body wash as they kept forgetting to restock and the manager had left the resort for the day, finally received body wash on our last day. Lovely spa bath advertised, however it was old, dirty and its surroundings falling apart - nothing like the photos but without hot water it didn’t matter in the end. No hand wash for the kitchen and as the hand wash was attached to the wall you had to go to the en-suite to wash your hands. Only 5 or 6 pieces of firewood although the photos show it is fully stocked. Manager told us to go to the shop to purchase as the owners didn’t leave enough in their locker as it was “end of season” although we paid peak prices. Not sure what is more insulting, the fact that the manager confirmed the owners were the last to vacate prior to us or that my texts and email to her are being ignored. We are entitled to compensation under the ACL for the misrepresentation of this listing. How can you justify charging $4848 for our stay without any remedies? Ignoring us won’t solve the matter and you have now opened up the door to an investigation and possible penalties from...

Beware of Chalet 705. Don’t be fooled by the photos - bathrooms were old & filthy, including hairs throughout. Were told by the property manager the owners were last to vacate and left the place in this state. Walls were dirty, basic amenities like hand & body wash either empty or not restocked enough for your stay. There’s a fireplace but make sure you bring your own wood… Wouldn’t recommend staying here if you enjoy a hot shower after a day on the slopes, as we had no hot water until our very last day. Just a really disappointing experience for my sister’s 40th birthday, with no follow up or empathy from management. This place is an absolute disgrace! Do not stay here! Bethany and Tim are D Grade operators. We made a booking for this weekend with our beautiful daughters. A long and complicated story but Mt Buller Apartments have fraudulently charged our visa for the booking and won’t allow us to stay or offer a refund.

We have registered their misconduct with Victorian Consumer Affairs, which seems to be a frequent occurrence for this hotel. Stay at Breathtaker; it’s divine and the service is amazing!
