Came here after a hike to enjoy a drink and some pool and was absolutely astounded by the disrespect we were given. We were in a group of around 15, all 18+.The staff approached us with attitude and aggression stating we âhave to get out or show our IDâs nowâ and âyou need a parent to supervise youâ I understand the importance of everyone within the space being of legal drinking age but that hostile approach when we had just arrived was unnecessary.
There were a group of four adults, three men and one woman who mocked us the entire night, one of the men clearly either owned the bar or knew the workers, they made comments about our age and told the staff to kick us out. We ignored them and kept to ourselves but the harassment continued, they threw ice and were heavily intoxicated, sending the staff over to be aggressive and try to intimidate us away. After putting down their credit card on the pool table to show they wanted it after us they proceeded to loudly complain about how long we were taking and when more of our group arrived said âmore kids showing upâ. The workers needed to stop encouraging this behaviour and cut them off from alcohol, regardless if they new them or not.
When playing pool the men made misogynistic comments to the women playing such as âyouâre not going to make it mateâ, âyou need to keep your jaw openâ and slamming their glasses every time one of us missed a pot. The bar was not busy and there was lots of space for other people to enjoy their time. Several of us bought drinks and received attitude when ordering after being told we had to buy something now or weâd be kicked out.
We again didnât respond but having people double our age interrogate, laugh at us, harass us and try to intimidate us away was ridiculous, the bar needs a serious reality check that their new audience is young and they...
Read moreIt was a cold winterâs night on Mt Buller, and me and some friends were having a great night at the darts, it was starting to wind down so we thought letâs head on down the Koorora for a little boogie and a few more sherbets as you do. We entered the bar and were swiftly reminded by the posters around the bar that EFTPOS is a struggle for the bar staff in busy periods, god only knows how bars and clubs in cities like melbourne manage it, anyway we headed on over to the âcash outâ. I got myself $50 out with a cheeky $2 cashout charge just to rub it in. My friend only wanted a couple of drinks and asked the price of a drink so she knew how much to take out, this was obviously a huge struggle for the, letâs call him cashout man, as for whatever reason he couldn't turn around and ask one of the 6 other bar staff on shifts. He just told my friend go over and join the cue to ask for drink prices, obviously customer service isn't a high priority for him at this point my other friend was next in the cue, she got $20 out with a slight rip in it, she didn't think anything of it as she was about to spend the money in the same bar.
Annoyed with whole situation we thought right letâs have a drink and carry on with night, my friend ordered a cocktail, handed over the $20 she just got out, and the barman âaccidentally ripped the noteâ then turned around and said sorry we can't take this, even though he was the one that ripped it..overall the customers service experience, was a shambles, and i would highly recommend heading two minutes up the road alpine, where they have two free pool tables, cheaper jugs and friendly bar staff who have the skill to use EFTPOS...

Exterior looks like a Soviet bunker mixed with a bad RSL. The concrete facade looks drab and creates horrible issues with water pooling. Get rid of the glass barriers and replace with a wooden bench and get some more inviting lighting (ie festoons, warm tungsten lighting) out there that arenât downlights or spotlights.
Interior is way too clinical, carpet floors, tacky LED strips, a massive grid of empty tables, a massive projector screen and again, downlights everywhere. Downstairs thereâs a âclubâ area for mountain goers to pop on their dancing shoes, but no one feels comfortable (or probably doesnât even know itâs there) because youâve got to walk down a dark staircase only to be greeted by a DJ playing to an empty room. I watched so many people walk down, then instantly walk back up. Bring the DJ upstairs on quieter nights (youâll also get way more people walking in if they can see some live music through the window) and leave the downstairs for really busy nights or events.
Hope this changes over the next few years, I understand itâs new/ unfinished. RIP...
