Well its the 3rd of Sep 2020, Merchant navy day, and I'm in Albany which spouts that their town has a long history with the sea and marine life. with seafaring references all over the place, lots of admiralty anchors and marine gear scattered all over the town in spots as well as a very small monument to whats sometimes called the Fourth Service, The Merchant Navy. This monument supposedly to represent all who served and died in service. Its situated up at the National Anzac Centre located at the Princess Royal Fortress Military Museum at Mount Clarence, giving a token nod to the mariners that manned the transports and supply ships that took the ANZAC's to Egypt and eventually Gallipoli. But did I see one Red Ensign flying or even some respect given at this small insult of a memorial. NO.
