The National ANZAC Centre in Albany is an extraordinary tribute to the brave men and women who served our country. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the profound stories, immersive exhibits, and the overall experience it offers.

The center’s location overlooking the picturesque King George Sound adds to its poignant atmosphere. The stunning views create a sense of reverence and remind us of the sacrifices made by our ANZAC heroes.

The exhibits are thoughtfully curated, providing an insightful journey through Australia’s wartime history. The interactive displays, personal accounts, and multimedia presentations truly bring the stories to life, evoking a deep emotional connection. It’s a place where history and humanity converge.

The staff at the National ANZAC Centre are knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate. Their dedication to preserving the memory of our veterans is evident in their willingness to answer questions and share additional information. Their commitment to ensuring a meaningful visit is commendable.

Additionally, the center offers various educational programs and guided tours that cater to visitors of all ages. These initiatives contribute to a greater understanding of the sacrifices and contributions made by our servicemen and women.

Whether you have a personal connection to the ANZACs or simply appreciate the significance of their sacrifice, a visit to the National ANZAC Centre is an absolute must. It serves as a powerful reminder of the values that our nation holds dear and the importance of honoring those who fought for our freedom.

I highly recommend the National ANZAC Centre to anyone seeking an immersive, educational, and emotionally moving experience. It is a place where gratitude and remembrance come together, leaving a lasting impact on...

What a learning experience. The ANZACS are a huge part of Australia’s and New Zealand’s history, yet it was not taught enough, when I was in school in the 60’s and early 70’s. A lot of the subject matter will be totally over the heads of primary school kids, but I suppose we need to start somewhere. The interactive technology with the use of following along a soldier and his journey in WW1 is fascinating. Some of the verbal information delivered through the portable speakers was a bit long. All up a fantastic display, and I was so glad that I spent the time to visit. It’s a credit and a legacy created to honour the brave, and the sacrifice that all Australian and New Zealander made during this time in our history. The stories touched me, and made me think of the sacrifices that were made, and the silly decisions that were made by the military leaders of the day. I enjoyed the visit, and the learning experience, and yep I’m not young, I’m...

Good setup with compelling and well designed presentations. I liked the inclusion of stories from individuals, which are set against descriptions of larger war scenarios.

However I feel the information here is overall unbalanced in that it glorifies war too much, leaving out the horrors and anxieties soldiers experienced. This may have been done to deliver a feeling of positive patriotism to the experiencer's of the museum.

With the audio stories, many of these are too unemotional. Where there is tragedy, the emotional tone of the narrations could have been informed by the terror and confusion the men faced. Also nothing in there questions the legitimacy of sending all of those young men up there. This is still debated. That it is still debated could have been made known in a place like this.

My favorite display is the interactive table-screen. The view from the Anzac Center is great, and the staff...

This was a very poignant experience. The memorial buildings and grounds are themselves beautiful, and the duality of standing in this beautiful place immersed in recent history, and stories and images of war, hardship, and incredible spirit is something you're unlikely to remain unmoved by. The interactive displays draw you in, as you are following the story of a real ANZAC through the exhibition, with photos, stories and artefacts from all factions on display. Letters read aloud and paperwork to scroll through is fascinating, and gives you an insight into how it must have been and what they felt. I would recommend this to anyone. Accessibility is good, with ramps and nearby priority parking. Seats are at regular intervals and there is plenty of room for wheelchairs. There are toilets in the foyer. The staff are lovely and knowledgeable, and explain the process in detail on entry.
