I was so excited to go to this winery, as the tour we were on said their wine was great. Whilst, the wine was great, service was not. I paid the $25 for a tasting, expecting good service. Earlier, my friend was refused by a men at your counter to drink, which she respected quickly. Responding with it’s fine, (even though she went to one winery before). First, my tasting went for 10 minutes and before I could even say what I wanted to buy, I was quickly told the total of my tasting. To be honest, I wasn’t going to buy because of how quickly and rushed the service was, but in comparison to the other previous winery, I was shocked. We then proceeded to the main counter, where we asked for the two bottles of wine we brought from a previous winery, in which your worker said “no”. I was dumbfounded and shocked because we brought this and we just wanted to go home at this stage. He also then said have you paid, and i said yes, went silent for 2 minutes. It felt terrible. After explaining it, he gave it, but I left, feeling like I was a bother to your business over being a customer. I would never recommend or come back myself to this business, which sucks because everything else...
Read moreAfter having 15 years of hospitality experience, I was blown away by the level of service received at this vineyard.. Jess - concierge or the first point of contact was the most welcoming and friendly person I have come across. I took my wife - and 2 children there for a tasting and possibly a tour of the facility. My wife and I sat for the tasting when my youngest child decided this was the perfect time for a meltdown. Not only did the staff make me feel at ease about this but took my child aside to show the small and interesting parts of the building. (My wife and I were on holidays interstate).
Alex then took us around the vineyard showcasing the estate and offering a special barrel tasting then back to the paid tasting. His professionalism, knowledge and dry wit sincerely made the tour a fun tasting adventure along with a great education on both broken wood and the Hunter Valley.
The tasting was fantastic - showcasing something for every palette. 100% child friendly- more than accommodating and with picturesque scenery all around - the perfect stop for a lazy afternoon in the Hunter valley
I could not recommend this cellar...

Our journey began with a tasting session that was not just value for money but a palate revelation. As we sat down to dine, Troy approached us with a blend of expertise and enthusiasm that was infectious. His guidance on wine pairing was an artful dance of flavors, making each sip a perfect companion to our meal. With a flair that only a true connoisseur could possess, Troy introduced us to a delightful array of tastings, each elevating our culinary experience.
Troy's passion for sharing his knowledge was as apparent as the joy in a glass of bubbly. He even whisked us into the Brokenwood membership – a cherry on top of an already perfect day. It was hard to tell who enjoyed the session more – us or the legend himself, Troy, whose enthusiasm was as contagious as it was genuine. A visit to Brokenwood, under Troy's expert tutelage, is an absolute must for those looking to add a sparkle to their wine-tasting adventure. It's a 'grape' way to spend to spend the day! We're...
